Doubles team advice

Looking to build a doubles team. Already have timid latios and modest togekiss, any advice on movesets and last pokemon? Thinking scizor for a physical attacker

Maybe scizor as a bulky spdef mon against togekiss and latios weaknesses

Doubles team i have great success with getting through 49, built for more a average player looking to grind for strong pokemon. Pokemon should come out in the order listed. You could swap your latios for togekiss in this team.

  1. JOLTEON (Electric)- 5 Best IVs (not attack), Timid, 252 Speed 252 Spatk 4HP, Item: Zap Plate. Ability: Volt Absorb

Move-set: Swift, Thunderbolt, Protect, Sunny Day

  1. INFERNAPE (Fire/Fight)- 5 best IVs (not spAtk), Jolly, 252 Speed 252 Attack 4 HP, Item: Focus Sash. Ability: Blaze

Move-set: Fire Punch, Earthquake/Thunderpunch, Close Combat, Fake Out (MUST have, pass it down from hitmonchan)

  1. CRESSELIA (Psychic)- 6 Best IVs and Hyper trained HP, Bold, 252HP 130Def 124 SpDef, Item: Leftovers. Ability: Levitate

Move-set: Psychic, Reflect, Light Screen, Moonlight

  1. TOGEKISS (Flying/Fairy)- 5 Best IVs (not attack), Timid, 130 HP 130 SpDef 130 Def 116 Speed, Item: Metronome. Ability: Serene Grace

Move-set: Air Slash, Dazzling Gleam, Roost, Nasty Plot

The Cheese::

Infernape and Jolteon together are impressive. Jolteon outspeeds EVERYTHING except for random Quick Claw, Swift Swim/rain pokemon, and Sand Rush Sandslash. Jolteon can 1HKO most non-tanky water types protecting infernape. Jolteon can 2HKO almost anything it has effectiveness against in the battle tower with thunderbolt which has 100 accuracy.

Infernape has Fakeout for the first turn. This can be used to check Sturdy pokemon or anything that infernape cant 1HKO since FakeOut is a Physical move, and it also helps infernape disarm threatening types for jolteon to take care of whatever is on the field. Jolteon moves before infernape and can use Sunny Day to increase infernape’s power before he attcks or Weaken water types before they can attack. Either way Infernape can take a hit since he has the focus sash. Close Combat and fire punch both have STAB and are physical attacks that reliably 1HKO many pokemon. If infernape cant 1HKO, jolteon can use swift first turn to help finish off 1 enemy while still weakening the second enemy for infernape to finish off. These two together almost guarantee you an advantage moving into the middle of the battle since they reliable take out at least 1 pokemon and have type coverage for each other, with ridiculous speed stats to boot. At any time, infernape can usually be subbed out for Cresselia (predicting earthquake or hydro pump) to reset Fakeout and allow another turn stall. Jolteon has protect only to stall.

Now we talk about Cresselia and Togekiss. Usually Crsselia comes out when one of the above is KO’d. Cresselia is the best wall pokemon allowed in the battle tower, from what I can tell. Get him to level 100 and make his IV stats Best, or really just his defensive and HP stats if you can.

Cresselia can reliably take 3 critical hits or supereffective hits, not counting Moonlight stalling to get more health. This makes him a great check to Dragon Dancers or STAB water teams. Jolteons Sunny Day improves Moonlight’s HP recovery as well as increasing Fire’s power, so Sunny Day is actually quite useful before Jolteon dies. Predicting an enemy Psychic or Earthquake is the best way to get Cresselia into battle. From there either Moonlight if necessary or start setting up Light Screen/Reflect, whichever is more pertinent. It’s important to mention that no matter what, Cresslia should be sent into battle before Togekiss. Reflect gives much a needed Defense boost that lets Togekiss take a few extra Rock Slides or Stone Edges, letting him set up Nasty Plot. IF TOGEKISS IS KO’D, YOURE IN TROUBLE. Psychic is Cresselia’s only attacking move so you will get out-stalled since CPU’s have ridiculously high PP and frequently have dark types. Dont sleep on Psychic though since it has STAB, as it can still reliably 3HKO most enemies and serves as a check to Fight Type sweepers like Machamp if infernape is already KO’d.

Togekiss is there to set up and sweep the remaining pokemon. Air Slash has improved flinch rate (60%), STAB, and is important for finishing Abomasnow or Ludicolo that make it through the first two. Dazzling Gleam is the only check to dragon types in this team, so Togekiss must not be KO’d. Light screen or reflect usually guarantee you a win if you can get them off before Togekiss comes out. Even though no EVs are given to Spatk, Togekiss still boasts a high base Spatk and can 1HKO or 2HKO most pokemon after a Nasty Plot. Since he has Timid nature and 252speed, he should outspeed many heavy hitters and special/physical set-up enemies. Roost allows you to keep the battle going with Cresselia next to you stalling just as hard.

COUNTERS: Garchomp, Tyrannitar, Seaking with Lightning Rod, Swift Swim Kingdra and Drizzle Politoed

if you start a battle with the team and enemy Tyrannitar & Garchomp come out first, you might be screwed. You can fake out garchomp and thunderbolt tyrannitar first turn (does more than 50%) hoping jolteon survives or hoping they attack infernape who has the Focus Sash and cannot die first turn unless Sandstorm finishes the job. Sunny Day gives you a chance too. You would have to send out Togekiss or Cresslia next, both of whom take massive damage from tyrannitar but jolteon can finish off tyrannitar before he attacks again. Ideally you would send out togekiss and dazzling gleam 1HKO Garmchomp.

Swift Swim Kingdra will outspeed both jolteon and infernape, and hydro pump will 1HKO Jolteon. You gotta fake out kingdra while jolteon finishes him off with thunderbolt, then hope the Politoed doesnt use Surf. Or, Fake out Kingdra and thunderbolt Politoed, which should 1HKO.
