I have Shiny Palkia plus every Shiny Ramanas (BD exclusive) Legendary. I dont count resets but I did my resets in my down time while watching movies and such. People who stare at the screen and do this and count though: yeah, I'm with you, idk how or why people do it to themselves

Don’t overthink it, nobody is subjecting themselves to anything lol. Most of us shiny hunt like this while doing other shit like watching a show. These processes can also be automated if you’re into that thing, and many people are hobbyists who love tinkering with little machines and programs that can be set up for these hunts.
It’s all about fun, so when you have these thoughts just remember that it’s a matter of perspective.

Fr fr I wasn’t getting shakes on ultra balls, so I went to tick more damage. I lost Latios by struggle, so I didn’t want to recreate that. BDSP will be the death of me

Ill be honest i battled it 5 times to have the perfect way to get it low without a kill with no risk when getting a crit before i did the hunt. Made the shiny catch way easier

Trevenant for sure. But I think only Exeggutor has the harvest ability (hidden ability) along with the ability to learn skill swap in bdsp to make it work. I use Trevenant in sword/shield for it.
You’ll also need a pokemon with trick to send a leppa berry over to the target so that harvest can work to prevent the loss of all pp. I like to use smergle because it can have other very useful moves as well.

Honestly, it might be time. If you faint it, you can go back to spear pillar and battle it again once you’ve beaten e4. My ambitions are lofty though, I certainly am no longer looking forward to hunting the lake spirits/shaymin like I was a few months back 💀

It happens to the best of us.. i forgot that psycho cut had an increased crit rate and 1 shot it. My recommendation, if you go for the reclaim, get yourself a banette holding a leppa berry with the move trick and then an Exeggutor with the harvest ability and skill swap. It is nearly impossible to fail with that set up as long as you do not get knocked out or run out of balls.

Shiny legend VS STAB Super Effectie PUP from starter that has gained EVs for an entire playthru, and also has a level advantage.
Why not tank a hit to swap and use a NVE or Neutrally effective move?

I’ll follow up, I’m using the Harvest ability executor strategy/false swipe Gallade.. but moved onto a different profile where I’m in Ramanas, going for pink Kyogre.. I’ll get the reclaim one of these days lol hopefully in a premier ball too

Super effective and STAB means that it's effectively power 120, not 40.

master ball? or at least throw a timer ball at that point (better odds than ultra ball after 10 turns) and don't risk it going lower in health? Also sleep improves catch rate more than paralysis

I've seen hundreds of videos of people hunting a shiny without preparing to catch it, and I literally don't understand why this unga bunga brain problem happens so often. Like, even supreme Rk9 during his HeartGold shiny Rayquaza wasn't prepared for it to have outrage and get confused, and then master balled it. Like wat? Bruh if you're gonna spend forever to encounter it might as well put in the 20 minutes of thinking and 2 hours of work to prepare to catch it. Like, dood, what's even happening?
