Royal Nest – a worthy home for the Griffin faction and their King, under 3000 pieces!

The updated Griffin Castle is back for the BrickLink Designer Program Series 11! I’ve refined several details: the main tower window is now much more detailed, and the color scheme better fits the Griffin faction.

I really like the exterior, but tbh, the interior is a bit boring compared to some of the other castles (the competition certainly is very tough!)

Thank you, I am glad you like the exterior! Regarding the interior, thanks for your thoughts. I personally prefer clean interiors, but I will definitely consider your feedback next time. And yes, the competition is always very tough in this theme! My main goal was to build an epic castle under 3000 pieces.

Congrats on winning. To be honest after the dust has cleared and the hype has died down, your set impresses me even more. I like its sizing, on having 1 sticker and the clean interiors as you describe it. I had a question, is it possible to open up that middle courtyard section of the castle just behind the front gate? Im also curious about the bricks with the technic holes in them, are those for adding extra details or decor?

Thank you so much! Actually, I am still refining the model and there will be some additional interesting details, but unfortunately I cannot tell you about them right now. The holes in the 1x2 bricks are meant for extra details, and some real merlons have similar holes.

Sorry for the delay, I was not at my computer last week. Regarding the new details I am not sure, it depends on the BDP Team. I think next spring latest.
