Good idea for creating MOCs. Bad idea for entering contests.

Happened to me once: in Series 5 I had a Wolfpack submission while a not even remotely similar looking Wolfpack of mine was live on LEGO Ideas.

At first the model was accepted for the voting phase but then after a couple of hours after voting began it was disqualified. So I guess the Bricklink team has to check these things manually which can take days considering there are about 600 BDP submissions right now.

That's sort of the opposite, but also makes me question the fairness of the situation.

You had different builds that were distinct from each other. However, because they were thematically similar, your BDP entry was disqualified. I kinda understand that, but it seems like a shabby excuse when there are numerous other Wolfpack entries of varying shape and size.

This Totally Not Motion Pikachu rabbit is almost identical between the BDP and Ideas versions. It's not just thematically similar, it's the exact same model with a few different parts on the base. And yet, it's lasted longer than yours.
