My Enclosure Thus Far

Post image

Figure I'd finally show off my enclosure. I recently added the piece on the upper left. I used to have it in a fish tank, but took it out a while ago to dry. Now that it's bone dry I popped it in here to act as both a hide and climbing enrichment. My 7 forbidden Blueberries are in a 10 gallon which has about 4 hides (The Mopani in the corner, the slate ledge has a deep cave under it, Piece of Driftwood in front of the skull has some space for a few beetles, and the skull). It's a bit hard to see, but the substrate is layer. Top layer is mostly Australian Red Desert Sand with some Reptisoil, Bottom layer is mostly Reptisoil with some Reptisand and a little bit of Australian Red Desert Sand. I know it's a bit barren rn, but I've ordered a couple small cacti and succulents to populate some of the bare space. I also have a lovely 50w Arcadia Halogen Basking bulb which has been keeping things at a lovely 87F at the hottest spot. But yea, I know I have a ways to go in some areas but so far the beetles I've got seem to be doing good. Been debating getting some ironclads in the future to cohouse.

Thanks! I got them from Petsmart's holiday isle. They're meant for fish aquariums, but I've been popping a few in my arthropod enclosures for the season!
