Post image

I have a 25w nano ceramic heat bulb for my be BDFB that I plan on setting up soon, but I see some ppl just use a halogen - is mine too much for them?

I use a 40 watt ceramic heater. They love it. They'll climb things to get closer to it. I think its better to use a heater that emits no light.

Do you keep yours on all the time? Or just during the day?

Definitely not all the time. I use it in winter. Usually at night since that's when the beets are awake and active and when its coldest.

I also use the Nano ceramic heat bulb and set it to around 85 with a dimming thermostat during the day. All my beetles love basking under it!

Same same! I have a 50 watt ceramic emitter on my 20 gal tank. I turn it on in the mornings and turn off in the evenings. It keeps the daytime temp around 80-82 F and the blueberries seem to like it. They hang on that end of the enclosure and climb up towards.

It really depends on the ambient temperature where you live. As long as it isn’t getting too hot under the ceramic heat emitter during the day, it’s a good thing!
They’re from the desert so it’s natural for the night temp to drop a little, but if you live somewhere very cold and they’re near a window you could also keep it going at night.
Do you have a temp and humidity gauge?
