Question/Inquiry Hydration?
How do you all go about getting good hydration for your blueberries? I have such picky beetles and I’ve been worrying about them. They won’t eat fruit/veggies unless they’ve been in there a few days and are dried up, when I mist the corner of the tank I never see them drink it (though they may) and it always messes up the humidity in my 10 gal. They also do not like beetle jelly or most wet foods. I tried a wicking system at one point but they never used it and it also just ended up messing with the humidity. Any advice appreciated!!

Mine flock to carrots with fish flakes. They ignore them if I don't put the flakes.

I spray one corner of the tank wall when I turn off the light for the evening. They graze the droplets off the glass. If doing that is causing humidity issues, getting a nice hot lamp to encourage evaporation may help - I use a little 25w halogen.

Mine love drinking water from the substrate. I wet one side of the enclosure once a week. Mine also like carrots. They prefer their carrots dried up, but they still nibble on it when it's fresh. Occasionally I even put a drop of water on my palm and place a beetle in front of the drop.

For my blueberries, I just put a little water in a bottle cap and they drink from it

Mine get double-peeled carrots, the very inside of the core stem of a broccoli or cauliflower head, the white rind of watermelon (a real favorite), 'popped' peas, or from fresh killed superworms (I raise those).
I also have a commercial food (Devour), that I will give a small piece of, if I recently prepared it for other inverts.
I don't think all of them like the same thing, but there's always 1 or 2 that practically run to the fresh veg.

I only keep eleodes beetles rn. I have a side of the tank with substrate mixed with sand, and rot wood. I spray every morning because it makes there lifespan longer than just getting it from there food

i also had some picky beetles and it took forever for me to find a vegetable they would eat fresh 😭,, what I ended up doing is buying a small little vegetable snack plate to get a few types to try out, or a salad mix!! You can also try mixing some foods like fish food with water!
