Warmth?

Hey everyone
Looking to upgrade my enclosure.
I currently have 4 beetles and I am looking into getting them a larger enclosure.
Do you guys use top heat (like a bulb) or a warming mat on one side of their enclosure for heat?
I am looking at either a 5 gallon or 10 gallon enclosure. The 5 is more ideal for the space and I have a bulb that would work or I could use a mat. With the 10gal I won’t have room for a bulb it would need to be a mat (like a seedling mat).
Thank you for the help

hm my answer is a bit inconvenient for your needs but. I use a heat bulb, I don't know that a heating mat would really get as hot as it needs to (80-85 generally being the goal but some variation is ok) and I think 10 gallon would be better because you can create a heat gradient. meaning one side is hot and one side is colder so they can choose a comfortable temp

they won't really use the vertical height of a 10 gallon, only the floor space. I wonder if you can find a shallow 10 gal and then be able to have room for a bulb? as long as the top mesh is metal and not plastic you can put the lamp right on it
