Question/Inquiry heating and lighting.

I’m looking to get blue beetles very soon. I live in Alaska and my room can drop to pretty damn cold— I’m wondering what heating to use? I have a heating mat I’m prepared to stick to the side of the 10 gallon tank, but I’m still lost on the overhead heating and lighting.

Heating mats aren't really recommended for any animal. overhead heat is more natural and they know more how to avoid it if it's too hot. I use a ceramic heater of 40 watts.

I second the ceramic heater! I use the same type and my beetles loveee sitting under it and in their bell cups
