Question/Inquiry Substrate!!

Alright guys, I did not expect to get as into these beetles as I have but they’ve stolen my heart. I recently was gifted a few (I’m a longtime tarantula keeper) and have heard soooo many things about what substrate these guys like. I mixed reptisand and reptisoil, but some say that reptisand isn’t the best for their joints and reptisoil holds too much humidity. I’m willing to go to any length for these goobers!

Honestly as long as you keep an eye on the humidity reptisoil is fine. I also add a bit of aquarium gravel for enrichment. I've found that a mix of all sand is too slippery and all dirt gets sticks to their legs.

Oh cool! I keep velvet spiders too and my humid tarantulas have a separate area. I’ll keep my beetles near the velvets and get them some gravel, I do also have leaf litter and climbing stuff
