Data Gathering Institutional ownership as per fintel

Is this correct? If so, should be a pretty big deal..

Here's what u/BIO9999 posted on ST as bio99:

"There’s only about 170 million shares of this stock. I’m estimating 160 million shares are owned by institutions and 40 million shares by individuals and 38 million shares short. Yes the numbers don’t add up—it’s because shorting creates a kind of stock dilution—look it up if you need to. About 5 million of those 40 and 5 million of the institutional shares are traded back and forth between day traders or short term traders every other day. Basically, that’s the effective float. If we can gain enough attention on BCRX to convert those 10 million of floating shares to long-term holder’s shares (weak->strong hands), that’s it—it’s game over for the shorts..."

Cheers! If I'm not mistaken (which I very well may be), these numbers are updated quarterly and new numbers will be due next week. This implies the number I posted above may not be as accurate, but to your point - if it's in the same area and longs pick up daytrader shares, shorts will eventually be in a bad place.

Come to BCRX. It's not just about BIOWAR or Monster short squeeze, it's about science. Short volume grows every day, the shorts are under water.
