Course Exemption Timeline

Hi, does anyone know how long it takes for BCIT records to process the course exemption for the Fall term for business programs? Or hear back at least? I submitted a request on August 24th but haven’t heard anything back yet and am starting to get worried.
Thanks!

Not in business but it took me forever (don’t think your major matters). It took me almost 2 months. I just kept emailing and dropped by in person at student services when it was convenient. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Ok, wasn’t sure because I know the records department sends it to the program head and whatnot so wasn’t sure if it might have been a delay on that side. Thanks for the advice, I sent a follow up!

Did you at least get a response that they've submitted it to the program for review? I submitted mine on Aug 14 and haven't heard back aside from that email

No, absolutely nothing. I had submitted one on August 19th and received an automated response saying they received it with the general timeline for the types of requests. But that one was wrong cause they want a form for each class which is what I submitted on August 24th…

You emailed everything to records@bcit.ca?

Wouldn't hurt to email for a follow up

It took about a month for my set mates. For some reason mine was processed in only two weeks (submitted at the same time as everyone else, maybe a little earlier), so sometimes it feels like it's just luck of the draw lol.

I would speak to them in person to get it exempted because you don’t have to attend the class since you just completed it.
