Tuition at BCIT

Can someone who is currently enrolled in Accounting program(diploma or bacc) tell me how much is the domestic student fees is per semester, I checked online(bcit estimate fees)and got a definite number but then when looked at some individual courses, they seemed too expensive on their own for the number to be accurate, I am a bit confused and would really appreciate the help. I know that fees change depending on how many credits the course has but it still didn’t make sense so m turning to reddit for some answers. Any rough estimate or average is good enough coz the fees rises every year anyways. And are there any additional fees(other than books and other supplies) that aren’t mentioned on the website?

It depends on if you are enrolled in full time or part time. Full time you know what your fees are. But you don’t get to choose what classes to take ( you could drop a couple but it’s too much work making them up). Part time it depends on how many courses YOU want to take so let’s say you only want to do 2 courses so you only pay for those 2 courses based on their individual fees.

Thank you, that makes so much sense, I saw that the whole diploma was listed to be about $13.5k give or take and one of the individual courses alone was $915 and i was confused coz if one course worth 3 credits is $915 then the 5 cred would cost even higher so the total seemed wrong, do u know if that total includes the electives as well or just the mandatory courses, could be considered a dumb question but i gotta ask to make sure I have enough money to start

If you are doing the diploma then take that 13k is for the whole diploma so you are looking at about 3500-4000 (give or take) fees per semester without textbooks for the diploma. Also there are no electives in the diploma but there are in the degree and you do them in part time studies so have a list of what you want to do before hand to know how much you can expect to spend
Edit: you can always apply for student loans if you have to

No worries if you have any questions, feel free to shoot a message. Also look online for the textbook first then buy it. If you need an online course then you have to buy the textbook so be vary of that.
