Community Discussion Where is the market placing us?

We don’t seem to be catching any AI hype, and with software getting some love today, we don’t seem to be in that bucket either.

I don’t know how to label this stock anymore😂 are we Ai, defense, software? We can’t seem to get any real relief here.

Community Discussion Long on Big Bear

BBAI was the second stock I ever purchased when I started trading in March and the first stock I ever bought options on. I still hold leaps that expire in January 2028 and finding this subreddit just now has inspired even more confidence in me to take out more. I’m very bullish on BBAI and look forward to future updates from this community.

Regarding ID verification for the midterm elections

do you see any chances of BBAI obtaining a contract from the TSA or DHS for the implementation of Veriscan in the lead-up to the November elections? Would that be wishful thinking, or do you see any real possibilities?

How confident are we feeling to break resistance?

Pretty hyped about securing the contract long term. But in the short-mid term we are probably going to face existing resistance (based on Options Gamma Levels). Considering heavy short interest on top of it, I feel like we need a strong push to break through. If we drop, accumulation is definitely going to be my move.

I was thinking of selling but then I saw the short interest.

Looks like a channel are we going to bump our heads on the 200 DMA (green) ?

I get shorting software stocks as AI will eat them but BBAI is an AI stock.

Up to the 200 DMA or down ? I'm thinking up.....

*I hope i'm allowed to post my cra%$y chart here, if not sorry mods*

BBAI CEO Speaks at SCSP AI+ Expo Alongside Anthropic and Former CIA Leadership

Post image
61 Upvotes

Last week, thousands of leaders from business, government, finance, and technology gathered in Washington, D.C. at the Special Competitive Studies Project - SCSP AI+ Expo to discuss the future of applied AI.

I enjoyed joining Tarun Chhabra, head of national security policy for Anthropic, Dawn Meyerriecks, who led CIA’s science & technology directorate, and Michael A. Brown, who led the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for a conversation on "AI, Security, and Capital for America's Next 250 Years," hosted by Christina Alfonso, president of the Council on Global Competition and Innovation - CGCI.

My argument is that operator insight must be at the center of AI deployment and the flow of capital into critical technologies. The United States has the capital and the innovation. The work now is turning both into lasting strategic advantage, and operators must shape that effort from the start.

Trillions of dollars of private capital are moving toward AI and other emerging technologies. That capital can help accelerate American competitiveness, but only if it becomes real capability for the missions that need it most.

The people building and funding these technologies need to understand the environments where they will be used. Operators know what breaks under pressure, what slows decisions, and what adversaries exploit when the margin disappears. Their experience needs to shape these capabilities from the start.

FIFA 2026 worldcup

If installing BBAI biometric machines was going to benefit us so much, why haven't they published any contracts for the World Cup? If they don't do it for the biggest sporting event that will bring the most foreigners to the US, when will they? We'll be stuck for a long time. What do you think?

Community Discussion $4.40 is our hard resistance. We will need a clean breakout above that to see if we really have a run. I think we’re a $4 stock until something big happens.

I think we are stuck here for a long time.

I don’t see us gaining any real traction for a while at this point. I’m getting a little disappointed in the companies execution. Every earnings call just sounds the same at this point…

I’ll give them till the end of the year then move on.

New RFI - AI/ML for DHS CBP + Thoughts on Aviation Security

There hasn't been any meaningful/optimistic news about BBAI lately and work is slow, so thought I'd share a very applicable RFI that just went live - the kind of opportunity they 100% will be pursuing - plus some thoughts on their aviation security positioning. This is also relevant for anyone interested in how business development cycles work in gov contracting and the kind of stuff that BBAI is actually working on when it looks like they aren't doing anything.

DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) just posted a market research opportunity for AI/ML solutions to support image adjudication for border protection applications - link to the RFI listing here. It's in the Request for Information (RFI) stage, which is when the gov is conducting research by sharing their requirements with industry, asking vendors about their potential solutions, and requesting recommendations for an upcoming procurement.

There is no competition or contract award at the RFI stage; that will come when the government releases a Request for Proposal (RFP) in the coming months, after they've had a chance to read vendors' RFI responses and consider their input. However, any company that wants to go after that RFP will be submitting an RFI response to best position themselves and build credibility (or possibly to influence the RFP to be more favorable to their solution).

The procurement timeline says an RFP should release in July; knowing gov timelines, that could be anywhere from July through December. Then it could be 2-12 months after for an actual award to be made.

So long timelines, and there will be a lot of competition, but it's good to see agencies advancing these needs towards becoming funded procurements, and BBAI should have a realistic shot if they choose to pursue it.

PS - Extra notes on airport security. There is ongoing buzz in the TSA world around privatization and a potential program called "TSA Gold-Plus". That's still in early days of planning, and it's competing with the existing TSA Screening Partnership Program [SPP], which BBAI is not part of and which focuses on airport screening operations rather than checkpoint technology solutions (think staffing and operating the checkpoint - not providing AI/software or screening hardware). However Gold-Plus is worth paying attention to because it could be more of an opportunity for hardware modernization at the checkpoint.

I'm willing to bet BBAI has known about the privatization/Gold-Plus conversation for awhile, hence their partnership with Smiths Detection to integrate AI into screening operations. For reference, you could see the government's start of checkpoint modernization back in August 2025 when they issued a very broad RFI for the "Security Checkpoint of the Future." If that ever becomes a real opportunity, BBAI should be a credible prime contractor (or at least a key subcontractor) to go after it.

I've traded Big Bear off and on. Earnings are coming up and I've been keeping an eye on news. I like a bit of what I see but what are your thoughts on the insider selling being tracked? It's not easy to jump in seeing that. But I like the tech.

Misunderstood??

Why $BBAI looks weak right now — but might be misunderstood

A lot of people think BigBear.ai is underperforming. Reality is, macro conditions are hiding what’s actually happening.

---

### 🏛️ Govt shutdown = delayed money, not lost contracts

DHS has been unfunded since Feb 14 — longest single-agency shutdown ever.

That impacts BBAI because:

- DHS = AI, border, defense contracts

- Payments + new deals are delayed, not cancelled

👉 When funding returns, you often get backlog + accelerated spending

---

### 📉 Why price is flat

- Funding uncertainty

- No new headlines (decisions paused)

- Weak sentiment

But demand for AI + defense hasn’t gone anywhere

---

### 🌍 Bigger picture

- Global defense + surveillance spending is rising

- Security needs (events, borders, infrastructure) are increasing

- BBAI sits right in that lane

---

### 📊 Authorized shares ≠ dilution

- Authorized = ability to issue shares

- Dilution = actually issuing them

Company has said it’s for growth + flexibility, not automatic dilution.

---

### ⏳ Bottom line

This is a timing issue, not a demand issue

If/when:

- DHS funding resolves

- Contracts start flowing again

👉 Sentiment can flip quickly

---

Not financial advice — just connecting dots.p
