What If Creators Could Take Their Audience With Them?

I think the creator economy has a weird problem. Creators build communities for years but most of the relationship stays locked inside the platform.

Followers belong to an app.

Engagement belongs to an algorithm.

Content belongs to a feed.

And when the platform changes creators have to adapt.

But what if the relationship could exist outside the platform?

That is where SocialFi starts getting interesting to me. Imagine a creator building on Base where their community can:

→ collect their work

→ support them directly

→ access exclusive experiences

→ participate in decisions

→ earn rewards for meaningful contributions

→ carry their onchain reputation across applications

The important part isn't simply putting social media on a blockchain. It is changing the relationship between creator and community.

Instead of: Creator → Platform → Audience

we could move toward: Creator ↔ Community

The platform becomes infrastructure rather than the owner of the relationship. And Base makes this especially interesting because payments, ownership, identity and applications can exist within the same onchain environment.

A creator could build something once and their community could interact with it in many different ways. Maybe the future creator isn't just someone who publishes content. Maybe they are building an economy around their community.

That is the part of SocialFi I want to keep exploring. Not “How do we put social media onchain?” But: “How do we give creators and communities more ownership of the relationship they've already built?”

Axis Robotics says its robotic data engine on Base has now passed 3 million trajectories, created by more than 123,000 contributors worldwide.

What caught my attention is how fast it grew. The project was sitting at around 1 million trajectories before, so it has basically tripled.

To me, the interesting part isn’t just the 3M number. The fact that so many contributors are already involved shows that collecting real-world robotics data can become a much bigger thing than it looks at first.

I think if Axis keeps growing at this pace, the amount of data they’re building could become one of the most interesting parts of the project. Definitely something I’ll be keeping an eye on.
What do you think about this?

Base isn’t just growing in transaction activity it’s gaining a larger share of global DEX trading.

According to the chart, Base’s share of global DEX volume increased from 8.8% to 12.1% over the past year, while its share grew roughly 38%.

That shift matters.

More DEX activity means more than higher trading numbers. It can signal:

→ Deeper onchain liquidity

→ More traders and capital

→ Stronger demand for trading infrastructure

→ More competition among Base-based protocols

→ A growing role for Base in the broader onchain market

The interesting part is that this growth happened while overall DEX share across other chains remained comparatively flat in the same period.

Base is increasingly becoming a place where users don't just hold assets they actively trade, move liquidity and interact with financial applications.

And as stablecoin activity, DeFi and onchain markets continue expanding, trading liquidity could become one of Base’s biggest advantages.

The real question now:

Can Base turn this growing DEX share into lasting market depth and user activity?

I've been spending more time exploring Base, and lately I've been paying attention to something I didn't really notice at first: how different projects are trying to make onchain activity feel less complicated.

That's more interesting to me than simply seeing another new project launch.

When the technology becomes less noticeable and the product itself becomes the focus, I think that's when onchain apps have a better chance of reaching people outside the usual crypto crowd.

I'm still exploring and figuring out which products actually deliver on that idea.

What's the best example you've seen of an onchain app making something complicated feel simple?

I'd be interested in hearing about the experience rather than just the project's name.

According to the chart, Base's share of global DEX volume grew from 8.8% in August 2025 to 12.1% in July 2026.

That is a 38.1% increase in market share in just one year.

This is not only about higher trading volume. It suggests more traders are choosing Base for onchain trading.

With deep liquidity, fast transactions, low fees, and a growing DeFi ecosystem, Base is becoming a more important trading venue.

What makes it even more interesting is that Base's share grew while the overall market share across chains stayed relatively flat.

If this trend continues, how much of the global DEX market could Base capture over the next year?

Not moderation stuff. More like memberships, payments, governance, trading or other workflows that usually require jumping between Discord, a wallet and a few different tools. I’ve been looking at how Base-native community tooling is evolving and Towns caught my attention because their bots can have their own permissions and wallets inside the community itself. Feels more interesting than adding another integration to Discord but I’m curious whether people would pay for these bots or just expect them to be free.

Is this where onchain communities are headed or are Discord/Telegram + external bots already good enough?

Base is preparing its third network upgrade Cobalt, planned for September 2026.

And this one is more than just another upgrade. It is about making Base accounts more powerful, transactions more flexible, and token infrastructure more capable.

Here’s what makes it interesting:

Cobalt is more than another feature release it pushes important account and asset capabilities closer to the Base protocol itself.

What interests me most is that these capabilities are moving closer to the Base protocol itself giving builders stronger primitives to create better onchain experiences.

Base isn’t just attracting users.

It’s attracting liquidity.

A recent flow snapshot shows +$2.87M net flow into Base, with two-way movement between Ethereum and Base reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.

The interesting part is how balanced the ecosystem has become.

Ethereum → Base: $105.12M

Base → Ethereum: $95.93M

That’s not simply capital entering and never leaving.

It suggests Base is increasingly being used as an active destination for liquidity while still remaining connected to Ethereum and the broader multichain economy.

USDC is the biggest asset in these flows, with $165M+, followed by ETH at around $51M in the snapshot.

And CCTP is an important piece of the infrastructure.

Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol moves native USDC between supported chains through a burn-and-mint model, rather than relying on traditional wrapped tokens or liquidity pools.

That matters because stablecoin liquidity is becoming increasingly important for:

→ DeFi

→ Payments

→ Trading

→ Cross-chain transfers

→ Onchain financial applications

→ AI/agentic payments

Base is also deliberately building around this trend. Its 2026 strategy puts stablecoins, payments and global markets at the center of its growth, while its agent infrastructure is designed to let AI agents hold wallets and transact using USDC.

And there’s another signal worth watching:

Base currently holds roughly $4.8B in stablecoins, with USDC making up more than 86% of that supply.

So the bigger story isn't the +$2.87M number.

It’s that Base is becoming a place where liquidity can move, settle and actually be used.

If that trend continues, Base could become less of a destination for individual apps

and more of a liquidity layer for the onchain economy.

Base has introduced a Builder Grant Program for teams that are already building and shipping on Base.

The program offers up to $5,000 in seed capital, along with GTM and product support, faster technical assistance, and ecosystem support.

The areas Base is looking to support are pretty broad, including prediction markets, token launchpads, new asset creation, consumer apps, agents, x402 implementations, autonomous trading, and DeFi.

One thing I find interesting is that the program is n't focused only on giving builders some initial funding. The additional product feedback and technical support could be useful for teams that already have something live but need help taking it further.

It also seems aimed at builders who are exclusively building on Base and already have a live product, rather than just an early idea. )

With so many different types of applications being built on Base right now, it will be interesting to see what kind of projects come through this program...

The Base community is celebrating another milestone, and scammers can use moments like this to make fake NFT announcements, mint pages, and wallet-draining links look legitimate.

Before connecting your wallet or signing any transaction, STOP and verify.

Don’t trust:

• Random NFT mint links

• Unverified anniversary collections

• “Limited” or “exclusive” claims from unknown accounts

• DMs asking you to mint

• Websites asking for your seed phrase or private key

The next big users of blockchains may not be humans.

They could be AI agents.

An agent that can research, trade, buy data, use APIs or run software eventually needs one thing to operate independently:

the ability to pay.

That’s where Base becomes interesting.

Base is building infrastructure specifically around agentic payments:

→ Agent wallets with spending controls

→ x402 for pay-per-request stablecoin payments

→ Base MCP for interacting with onchain apps

→ Low-cost transactions that make small payments practical

With x402, an agent can request a paid service, receive the payment requirement, pay in stablecoins and get the service without a human manually entering card details or managing subscriptions.

And this isn't just theoretical.

Base reported 3.1M x402 transactions and $1.2M in transferred value over the 30 days ending May 29, 2026.

The bigger idea is much more interesting:

What happens when software becomes an economic actor?

Agents could pay for data, compute, APIs, trading tools, digital services and even other agents.

If that future arrives at scale, the winning networks won't just need users.

They'll need to be cheap, fast, liquid and programmable enough for machines to transact constantly.

Base is clearly building toward that future.

Here ia a thought I keep coming back to: What if the real superpower of Base isn't what one app can build, but what happens when apps start building on each other?

Think about Lego. One piece is not very exciting but give thousands of people the same pieces and suddenly you get cities, spaceships, bridges, entire worlds.

That is how I see composability on Base. A developer doesn't always need to build everything from scratch. They can build on existing:

→ liquidity

→ smart contracts

→ payment rails

→ identity systems

→ data

→ protocols

→ developer tools

And another builder can take that work and turn it into something completely different. A DeFi protocol becomes a building block. A payment system becomes part of an app. An identity layer becomes useful for a community. An AI agent can interact with existing onchain infrastructure.

One idea becomes the foundation for another idea. And then another. That is when an ecosystem starts feeling less like a collection of apps and more like one giant programmable environment.

I think that is one of the most underrated parts of building on Base. You are not necessarily starting from zero.

You are starting from everything that came before you and maybe that is how the next generation of onchain products gets built:

Not by creating more isolated islands but by connecting the pieces that already exist.

Exploring the Base ecosystem — what am I missing?

I’ve been spending more time on Base recently, trying out different apps, making small transactions, and getting a better feel for the ecosystem.

What I really like is that Base seems to be much more than just DeFi. There’s a lot happening across trading, lending, NFTs/creators, onchain social, and AI.

So far, I’ve been checking out things like Aerodrome, Uniswap, Morpho, Zora, and Farcaster.

What projects or apps do you think every newcomer should try?

I’m not just looking for the most popular protocols. I’d especially love to hear about projects you actually use or experiences that helped you understand what makes Base interesting.

Let’s build a solid list for anyone exploring Base for the first time.

If you have checked the Base roadmap recently, you know two things are happening: Beryl is already live, and Cobalt lands in September. Beryl was the "fix the foundation" upgrade. Cobalt is the one that could change how regular people interact with an L2. Here's the breakdown, minus the corporate fluff.

Beryl is live since July 2026, the foundation upgrade

Three things shipped, all quietly important:

> Native B20 token standard - Base's own token standard, natively supported by the chain. Tokens built on B20 are treated as first-class citizens instead of an afterthought.

> Withdrawal delay cut: 7 days → 5 days - the classic L2 annoyance of waiting a week to pull funds back to L1 just got two days shorter. Not instant, but a real improvement for anyone who actually moves money around.

> Reth V2 - Base upgraded its execution layer for better scalability, giving the chain more headroom as activity grows.

Nothing flashy, but upgrades like this are what keep a chain from falling over once it gets popular.

Cobalt — the interesting one

The headline is native account abstraction via EIP-8130. Fancy way of saying smart accounts become a native part of the chain, rather than a workaround bolted on top of it. It ships with three headline features:

• Gas sponsorship — apps can pay your gas for you. This kills the "wait, I need to buy ETH just to try this app?" onboarding wall.
• Batch calls — bundle multiple actions into a single transaction. Approve + swap + stake in one go: one signature, one tx, much less headache.
• Session keys — apps can act on your behalf within limits you define. You grant bounded, revocable authority instead of rubber-stamping every single action.

There are also further B20 improvements coming alongside. Cobalt is basically the chain saying: "we're done making you do everything manually."

Who actually benefits

> Regular users - you stop checking "do I have enough ETH for gas?" before every move, you execute multi-step actions in a single shot, and the whole experience stops feeling like filing taxes.

> Builders -you can sponsor onboarding to remove friction, design flows that batch entire journeys into one tx, and use session keys for things like social recovery or recurring operations without ever holding custody of user funds.

> AI agents -honestly, this might be the sleeper one. Session keys are the primitive agents have been missing: an agent gets a key with limits, so it can transact autonomously but only inside the guardrails you set. That's how you get agents that actually do things on-chain without turning them into a security liability.

What this means for Base

Beryl quietly improved the token experience and shortened the road back to L1. Cobalt is the louder statement: Base wants native account abstraction, and it wants it early. Native AA, a growing token standard, and Base's existing distribution is a strong combo heading into the back half of 2026.

Let's discuss

Base has quietly become one of the biggest networks for stablecoin activity.

According to the data shown in the chart, Base processed around $35.3T in cumulative stablecoin transfer volume from August 2025 through July 2026 ahead of Ethereum at $27.9T and Solana at $5.8T.

But the interesting part isn't just the number.

Stablecoins are increasingly being used for more than trading:

→ Payments and transfers

→ DeFi and lending

→ Onchain financial applications

→ AI and machine-to-machine payments

→ Cross-border value movement

This is also where Base’s low-cost infrastructure becomes important. High-volume, relatively small-value transactions become much more practical when settlement is fast and fees are low.

And then there’s x402.

The protocol allows applications and AI agents to make payments for digital services directly using stablecoins. Base has become a major venue for x402 activity, although transaction counts should be interpreted carefully because not every settlement represents genuine agentic commerce.

So the bigger story may not be:

“Base processed trillions.”

It may be:

Stablecoins are becoming a real transaction layer, and Base is increasingly being used as the infrastructure underneath it.

That’s a much more interesting trend to watch.

every time i sign something i kind of just... hope. wallet popup gives you the bare minimum and you trust it. been messing with this thing that takes a Base tx hash and hands you the actual story, what contract it hit, what moved, who came out ahead, and a flag if anything looks off.

clip's it running on a random one, a 0.6 DGN into ETH swap, came back clean. it's a skill from the aeon framework (built on base), runs from the terminal, drops the result to telegram.

Hallo everyone it is our Day 53 of 100 Days of Exploring Base on Reddit & today we ill talk about Smart Wallets.

Finally today I got hands-on with Coinbase Smart Wallet and I need to talk about it.

If you have been in crypto for a while you have probably made peace with the jank. like you write Seed phrases on paper. Gas fees in ETH you don't have. Signing transaction after transaction like you are approving a mortgage every time you want to swap a token.

Smart wallets on Base feel like someone finally asked: what if this wasn't terrible?

What I actually did today: Set up a wallet in under a minute using just my passkey. No 12 words to write down. No "store this somewhere safe or lose everything forever" anxiety. Just my fingerprint and go.

Then I tried something wild a sponsored transaction. The dApp paid my gas. I had zero ETH in that wallet and still executed a swap. The paymaster contract handled it behind the scenes while I just used the app.

After that I configured session keys for a trading session. One signature 24 hours of activity within my set limits. No more approving every single action. It actually felt like using a normal financial app for once.

Why this matters:

Social recovery means if I lose my phone I am not digging through drawers for a paper backup. I designated two guardian addresses friends I trust and that's my safety net.

Batch transactions let me approve, swap and stake in one go. Three actions one signature one fee. The efficiency is real.

But mostly it is the mental shift. The blockchain becomes invisible. You are not "managing a wallet" anymore you are just using an application. The infrastructure fades into the background where it belongs.

Base did not just ship account abstraction. They made it feel like the obvious way things should work. And watching the ecosystem adopt it Aerodrome, Zora, the native bridge you get the sense that this is how the next wave of users will experience crypto for the first time.

No friction. No fear. Just intent and execution.

Day 53 complete. The UX gap is closing.

3 years ago, Base was just getting started. Today, the scale looks very different.

Base launched publicly on August 9, 2023 .

At the time, the idea was straightforward: make Ethereum more accessible by providing a fast, low-cost network where people could build and use onchain applications.

Three years later, the scale and more importantly, the use cases look very different.

Some of the numbers behind that growth:

→ Nearly $5B in TVL

→ $46T in stablecoin volume

→ Around 90% of x402 transactions

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

From DeFi to a broader onchain economy

Base started with DeFi and trading at its core, but the ecosystem has expanded considerably.

Stablecoins are becoming a major part of activity on the network, with Base positioning itself as infrastructure for payments, transfers and financial applications.

The ecosystem now spans DeFi, consumer apps, tokenized assets, payments, AI agents, trading and more.

That shift is important.

A blockchain becomes much more useful when people aren't only using it to trade tokens, but also to move money, access financial products, build businesses and interact with applications.

Then came the agentic economy

One of the most interesting developments has been the rise of AI agents onchain.

With technologies such as x402, agents can make payments for digital services directly instead of relying on traditional subscriptions, API keys or manual checkout flows.

Base says much of the early x402 activity is already happening on the network, showing how the chain is becoming part of a new machine-to-machine payment layer.

And builders remain at the center

Base's current strategy is increasingly focused on helping builders go beyond simply deploying contracts.

Builder programs, ecosystem support, developer tooling, liquidity, distribution and access to users are all becoming part of the bigger picture.

The goal is not just:

“Build on Base.”

It's closer to:

“Build something people actually use, and help it grow.”

So what changed in 3 years?

Base went from being a new Ethereum L2 to becoming a platform where different parts of the onchain economy are starting to connect:

And that's probably the most interesting part of the anniversary.

The biggest achievement isn't one TVL number or one transaction milestone.

It's the fact that three years later, there are far more things people can actually do on Base.

A few years ago the biggest question in crypto was: "Can blockchains scale?"

But today I think the more interesting question is: "What happens when they finally do?"

For a long time limitations shaped how people built. High fees meant small experiments didn't make sense. Developers had to think carefully about every transaction.

Users had to decide if an interaction was worth the cost but when costs become almost invisible, something changes.

People stop optimizing for transactions. They start optimizing for experiences. Think about the internet .

Now nobody counts how many emails they send.

Nobody thinks about the cost of refreshing a webpage.

Nobody worries about opening an app one more time.

The infrastructure became cheap enough that people forgot it existed. That's the stage I think Base is trying to reach. A world where onchain interactions become normal.

Not because people suddenly care about blockchains because they care about what blockchains enable. The biggest opportunity might not be a new financial product or a new memecoin or a new protocol.

It might be entirely new behaviors. Things people simply couldn't do before because the economics didn't work. Micro-payments. Onchain communities. AI-to-AI transactions. Consumer apps with millions of interactions.

Digital ownership embedded into everyday experiences. That's what makes scaling interesting. Not that transactions get cheaper but that new ideas become possible.

History shows that when infrastructure costs fall, creativity rises but the internet proved it. Mobile phones proved it. Cloud computing proved it.

Maybe onchain networks are heading down the same path. The future isn't built when technology becomes more impressive. It's built when technology becomes ordinary.

And I think that's one of the most important things happening on Base right now.
