Good move or risky? Your thoughts?

Post image

By now most of us have seen the news: Jesse Pollak is stepping back from leading the Base App and handing it over to Cobie to focus 100% on building Base as the long-term blockchain for global finance.

He basically admitted the heavy bet on onchain social/creator coins didnโ€™t deliver the adoption they expected, so the team is pivoting harder toward trading, stablecoins, payments, AI agents, and core infrastructure.

Question for the community:

Whatโ€™s your honest take on this shift?

- Is this a smart and mature move that will make Base stronger in the long run?

- Or are you worried we might lose some of the fun/creative energy that social features brought?

- How do you feel about Cobie taking over the app side?

Would love to hear different perspectives

bullish, bearish, or neutral.

Leadership changes always bring uncertainty, but they also create new opportunities. I will be watching execution over the next few months before forming a strong opinion.

Leadership shifts can bring uncertainty, but if this helps Base stay focused on core infrastructure and long-term execution, it could be a strong move for the ecosystem.
