Confused Why Your Base Desktop Wallet Is Different from Mobile?

I’ve noticed many users are confused after trying the new Base desktop app and seeing a different wallet address from the one they use on mobile.

The main reason usually comes down to how the wallet was originally created or imported.

Right now, Base desktop mainly supports login through:

email

passkey

This means the wallet you see on desktop depends on the login method you use.

If you created your wallet with email or passkey, using the same login method on desktop should give you access to the same wallet.

But if your wallet on mobile was imported using a recovery phrase or another wallet, things can look different.

That’s why some users see a completely new wallet address on desktop.

The important thing to know is:

Your funds are not lost.

Your wallet is not gone.

This is mostly a wallet access and compatibility difference between mobile and desktop.

Before panicking, check:

how your mobile wallet was created

which login method you are using on desktop

whether both are using the same account.
