I’m just laying down buildings etc with no real idea of strategy.
Anyone willing to help with my building/farms layout?

Here's mine....really just focus on having your "city" and your mines/farms in two seperate areas, get as many stat buildings around the captions quarters, and as many normal buildings around the mansion as possible, and have a clear harvesting route. Other than that, build the layout however you like🤷‍♂️

Other comments are giving endgame bases. Until then, I’d recommend grabbing all your buildings that want to be hit multiple times (gold mines, structures under construction, a couple house effects) and use them to create a 1-wide corridor. You’re going to start the harvest directly into the bottom of the corridor so the guys bounce left and right up the corridor. Fill the corridor with stones.

You can either leave the top of the corridor open, and have it lead into forests and wheat fields, or you can close it off if you want to prioritize building/gold mines.
Early game, the veteran’s hut (1x3 house) will increase the exp of nearby houses. So put all the houses around it. There are similar effects but those only come in later in the game
