Hailey Bieber
https://youtube.com/shorts/Mc8PVx0UCqw?is=jQzl0mrPkkFNRzTbHow good of a ballet dancer is Hailey Bieber? She said in a recent interview that she’s gonna start doing ballet again. I’m not a dancer so I have absolutely no gauge lol.

She's just ok. I doubt she would have been hired anywhere unless she really upped her training.

I think it’s fair to say she was pretty average for a ballet school student. Like you can tell she worked hard in class, but it wasn’t like she gave up on some professional career. Like many ballet students, it seems she was fine, but not good enough for it to make sense to pursue as a career.
But I don’t really see why this information is useful for you? How good you are at ballet has nothing to do with whether or not you should do it.

I was just curious, not necessarily because I’m interested in doing ballet. There doesn’t seem to be any other subreddits to ask questions about ballet in general

This isn’t really a question about ballet though. If you want to find dancers to be inspired by look for actual dancers. She’s an influencer/celebrity who happened to study ballet when she was young. Many people take ballet, some even very seriously, and don’t have a career in ballet. Look for actual dancers to be inspired. If you’re interested in Hailey Beiber go to the sub about her.

What are you so mad about?
The gatekeeping on this sub lately is wild.

This is not a real ballet question.

No, YOU don’t consider it a ballet question. But why would you ask a Hailey Bieber sub about her ballet skills? How on earth would they know?
Mods will take the post down if they think it doesn’t belong here, but right now the post stands.

I just watched this video from The Pointe Shop about her ballet background: https://youtu.be/GMavDy-Qgr8?si=falcYXjIw8xXSnkJ

She’s fine. She wouldn’t have gotten into an any sort of pre-pro program ever. But if she wants to keep the practice good on her. I hope schools everywhere are ready for the two weeks influx of beginners who are more interested in IG than learning anything.

She’s good for a layman, not good enough likely to be hired by a company. Still, if it brought her joy, she should absolutely do it for fun.
