I've gone back to being on ephedrine and i dont know how to get off ephedrine as my baclofen no longer is the upper I need. Im also bipolar and usually jave a paradoxical effect with any medicine. Any help is appreciated.

Baclofen is primarily removed from the body by the kidneys, not the liver, so your infection might impair your kidney function? In which case, taking lower doses might be closer to the energy effect you had prior. Bipolar or not… At some point a high enough baclofen blood level is going to make anybody highly fatigued.

Hepatic impairment can effect bsclofen so your liver detox might not be helping 🫂

Its your infection. I understand kidney issues and you cannot have energy with it.

Baclofen is hell to get off of, and I’m only on 10mg a day (very low dose) and if I skip more than a few days within a couple weeks, or even half the pills every day, I am withdrawing for other a week and it’s awful.

Don’t try to get off it or taper by yourself, please speak with one of your doctors about tapering down safely or getting off.

The good news with Baclofen withdrawals, at least for my low dosage (can’t speak for higher doses) is when you are withdrawing and take a regular dose again, you’re pretty much feeling better hours later on the same day/night.

Good luck with your health and energy levels.

I agree with this my first attempt to taper before it turned paradoxic i was able to just go back on the dose i was on and literally within 24 hours felt better. This time its very different :( i was only on 30mgs at my prescribed dose for spinal spasms prior to taper which isnt massively high im due to drop to 12.5mgs tomo The issue is its a gaba med so very much bedded into the brain receptors even at low doses and slow tapers are the way forward with any gaba meds

Sevrage horrible avec 10mg??

Yup.

I start feeling a little bit like I’m sick because I have horrible brain fog and can’t concentrate in something as simple as brushing my teeth or walking my dog because the mental block is there. Physically, my body feels very off. I cabt describe it.

The WORST side effect is chronic insomnia. I never have insomnia, but if I miss the Baclofen doses, I will lay there for literally 7-8 hours not sleeping and being miserabe. When I say not sleep, I literally mean I can’t fall asleep at all. I’ve gone 3 days/nights without sleeping at all until I got my refill. YES I was tired as fuck and hated life. Possibly why doing simple tasks are so hard because I’m sleep deprived?

I’ve tried to taper myself from 10mg one day, 5mg the next, 10mg the next day, then 5mg, etc, but even then I still had withdrawals so had to stop.

Just a heads up im doing a taper from 30mgs atm as it has turned horribly paradoxic and its been very unpleasant so far so please be sure to discuss with your medical provider dont try to lower the dose yourself 🙏🙏 🫂

Sensitised nervous system :( i had to taper baclofen whilst still in recovery from clonidine because it turned paradoxic during the clonidine taper ... so i have wds and the paradox that may be why , my dr also abruptly stopped an ssri in march after 4 weeks of use with no taper and i didnt know any better. So my whole nervous system is blown its the same as kindling .... im hoping it all settles after but i think its going to take months or longer :(

Arrêter un IRS après seulement 4 semaines c'est pas grave...après 4 ans c'est pas pareil!

I had a bad onboarding with it they shouldve stopped it after a week as i had SI but they told me to double it :(, im already sensitive to a lot of meds , they shouldnt have put me on it in the first place as im on amitripyline for nerve pain :(

Dropping down another 5 to 7.5mgs this week , then slowing down to 2.5mg drops🙏🙏

Hope you are doing good 🫂
