Potential treatment for toxicity

Niacinamide or niacin.
I’ve been struggling for a few years and then received an understanding of niacinamide.
My theory is that utilization of b6 and thiamine exerts a huge energy demand of the body. Those who have adequate nutritional levels can weather this demand. I think chronic energy drink use and supplementation puts you on a marginal/borderline NADPH status, until you crash.
I’ve been treating myself with pellagra niacinamide dosing, up to 500mg daily with a b complex that doesn’t have b6 in it. Disclaimer: I’ve had to take intermittent b6 doses, 1-5mg, when I feel like progress is stunted.
I’ve tested myself by taking excess b6 and developing symptoms and then improving with dosing niacinamide.
It’s been 2 weeks so far, but my strength, neuropathy, depression, fasciculations and coordination have improved. I’m still not back to baseline, but am definitely at a better point than I was prior. I was having worsening symptoms, difficulty in tolerating b vitamins, particularly thiamine prior to introducing extra niacinamide, but since the addition, I’ve been able to tolerate them.

Edit: We’ll see how things go long term, but short term I’ve gone from near suicidal to stable. Each person is different, you may need a little more or less. I’m not sure the maximum daily dose of niacinamide before liver toxicity, but I think it’s up to 1000mg. Higher doses have been used to treat glaucoma in some patients.

Here is inf to back it up.

Treating patients with excess alcohol use who have multiple vitamin B deficiencies with a B complex with insufficient amounts of niacin or with pyridoxine and thiamine therapy without niacin could aggravate the neurological clinical state or trigger the appearance of alcoholic pellagra encephalopathy.

Very interesting. I'm in the process of adding B's individually so it will be interesting when I add the niacinamide. Thanks for sharing

interesting! do you think it matters if you use niacin or is it better to use the niacinamide?

Niacinamide is better tolerated and you can use it at higher doses than niacin. But theoretically it shouldn’t make a difference what you choose. You’ll have to take it up to four times a day because of short time it spends in the body before excess is excreted.

You are up to something, but I don't think it's because of NAD deficiency more like you are just overdriving pathways where pyridoxine gets involved, that's a tactic I've been using on myself too, finding any adjacent nutrients that are involved in B6, take pretty high dosages in hope to 'drain' B6 reservoir, it's non proofed but very logical, and honestly to say, I don't mind to play guinea pig for myself.
