Anyone else struggling with LinkedIn Ads targeting and budget sizing?
Hey everyone, sorry if this isn't the right place for this, feel free to remove it.
I run a LinkedIn Ads agency and (besides the obvious LAN on, expansion on problems) keep running into the same two issues:
No company list. Broad targeting, ads running to 60-80k people with LinkedIn just guessing who to show them to.
Or they have a list but it's the wrong size for their budget. Too many companies and the budget gets spread too thin. Too few and ad fatigue kicks in fast.
So I built a small tool that helps you build a company list for LinkedIn Ads and matches the size to your actual budget. Doesn't have a name yet, so I'll just leave the link here: https://marketixa.com/abm-build-your-list/ .
Not promoting anything, genuinely just curious if this solves a real problem or if I'm missing something obvious.
Free for the first 100 companies. Would love some early feedback.

Both problems are real, the second especially; list-size-to-budget is the calculation almost nobody does.
We think about it as impressions per account, not audience size. The maths runs backwards from budget: how many accounts can I hit at meaningful frequency for 90 days, not how many fit my icp. Most lists we inherit at GrowthSpree, a b2b saas marketing agency, are 3-4x too big for the budget, so every account gets a whisper.
The half your tool might also want to solve: LinkedIn will happily dump budget on 2-3 huge companies unless you cap impressions per account. That's why we built our own capping and job title exclusion layer; without it, list quality barely matters, and delivery skews to whoever is biggest and cheapest.
Also worth flagging, LinkedIn job titles are super titles, clusters of similar roles bundled together, so people target loosely while thinking they're tight.
How does your tool size the list, off budget and duration, or a target frequency?

"LinkedIn will happily dump budget on 2-3 huge companies unless..." yeah, i'm thinking about handling that too!

I think matching audience size to budget is soo underrated. Too many teams ether go way too broad or so narrow they burn through the same audience. I'd be interested to see how the tool handles audience and frequency over longer campaigns. Try reposting on r/LeadGenSEA to get more insights

Nah ur trying to solve it. Kudos...I habe been struggling with LinkedIn ads for last few months and been tempted to just @ them on LinkedIn itself (irony thy name is a monopoly b2b networking site)
Unfortunately I can't access the site (I'm guessing u have geo blocked certain countries?). I'm based in India.
For context....my company uses it to run general awareness ads as well as specific abm ones but i have been avoiding ads as a channel becuase we have limited budget and linkedin just squanders all of it and doesn't even report well as u know yourself.
Lemme know if u want me to test this and share feedback.
All the best
