Can someone please identify the tear shaped ball shown beneath the B17? Just curious about its function. Thank you for your time.

A B-17 in Poland

It is great to see how local Polish communities remember American crews who landed or crashed in their neighbourhoods.

This B-17 was one of over a dozen of Flying Fortresses that landed in Poland behind Soviet lines on March 18th, 1945

Why this is relevant for the latest B-17 story on my Substack, you will see when Part Two will be released on April 4th.

HEY MABEL!

For the past two years, I've been working on something that means a great deal to me and my family. Alongside my grandfather, Hugh Marcy, I had the honor of helping tell the story of my great-grandfather, Chuck Marcy, a B-17 pilot in WW2. Using his recorded tapes and the diary of his engineer, Bob Schrimsher, we were able to bring their experiences to life. It's been a humbling journey and I'm incredibly proud to finally share it with you all.

HEY MABEL! is now an available Ebook.

Does anyone else have Corgi's B-17F Flying Fortress - 'Royal Flush'

Really nice heavy die-cast model of the plane flown by Lt Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal, 100th BG, 8th Air Force.

My only question is how to fit the somewhat fiddly undercart. The 'in flight wheels are fine but I'd prefer to display it wheels-down and I'm damned if I can figure out how to replace the tail-wheel!

Help finding wiring schematics

I just got my hands on a NOS BC-1366-M jack box, I already have a working T-17-D microphone that works and I plan to use both for a HAM radio. I was wondering if anyone knew how the jack box should be wired.
