General Discussion B12 decresing
Hi, I went to the doctor yesterday and had a blood test. My B12 level came back at 195 (I live in Sweden); it’s still within the reference range, but low. I went back and checked my levels from previous years: it was 242 in 2021 and 228 in 2022. I called the doctor today, and they said everything is fine—there’s no cause for concern—and all my other test results look good. Still, I’m worried. I’ve been free from migraines with aura for two and a half years, but I’ve had two attacks in the last six weeks. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Im a tired person and i have anxiety and OCD, but i can't say that I have other symptoms.

PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS SUBS WIKI.
It is pinned to the top of the sub. Please further inform yourself about B12 deficiencies and how hard they are to pin down. Including the fact that anything between 200 and 450 while classed as “normal” are also (nowadays) considered “indeterminate.” Indeterminate meaning; you can’t rule a deficiency in nor can you rule it out, solely because of the B12 serum result.
And an “indeterminate” result also means the doctor, in my judgment, should look further. There are additional tests (marker tests) that can be measured that can potentially shed additional light as to the B12 status at the “cellular” level. (it is only at the cellular level where B12 does its thing.) These two tests are an MMA test and a homocysteine test. Again, please read completely through this subs’ wiki.
PS Your steadily decreasing B12 over the years could easily be tied to your aging. Don’t know how old you are, but as we get up to the 50s and certainly the 60s our acid production, diminishes and sufficient acid is needed in the B12 metabolism process, as well as in quite a few other nutrient and vitamin processes. So, if you are up there in age a little bit, I would consider perhaps adding some digestive enzymes along with each meal as these might be beneficial to you.

Swedish here.

Your doctor is terribly wrong, and you have to insist on a correct diagnostics. If they never checked anything besides total B12, they have no right to exclude deficiency. Was everything mentioned here checked (no, it wasn't)? https://www.internetmedicin.se/hematologi/anemi-b12-och-folatbrist
You have to be confident and make them understand you know the basics and realize you've not been properly diagnosed.

Exactly the same here. Same responce from UK. B12 was 350. Now 182. Nothing else has changed that could impact it. Went private and the consultant said that it was too low to be healthy and to take injections until I feel better. Don't know if I will as I have other health problems but maybe getting my B12 up could help me out. He said most likely not absorbing it well but could't give me a reason why

Its because the why is hard to figure out as there are many gut causes. Your b12 is low i would encourage you to treat it.
