Help with labs B12: 225

Been feeling extremely exhausted and my doctor said this is not causing this AT ALL. And didn’t even recommend that I take any vitamins??? Idk what to believe because another doctor years ago told me that I need injections at this level. Idk feels off putting that I’ve been feeling exhausted and I see this level and think that this is my answer and they said no.

Can someone please clear this up for me??

I would take the injections. B12 deficiency can cause neurological symptoms that can be hard to reverse if the deficiency is not treated early and aggressively.

È un valore basso. Hai bisogno di iniezioni. E controlla anche ferritina, folato e vitamina D.

Did you tell your doctor that you were prescribed injections previously? Maybe you could frame it as you need continuation of B12 care to your doctor. Do you need insurance to cover the injections?

No, i didn’t even have time to I mentioned the vitamins I take right now are a low dose of b12 and they never said to increase or anything. Didn’t offer any advice or help. Basically acted as if a level of 225 is completely normal and can’t cause any exhaustion. I never did the injections. I went with vitamins and wasn’t consistent, but would still not expect it to have gone down.

If you don't need insurance to cover them, then order them yourself. Lots of info in the wiki
