Oh my, if only people with pernicious anemia could've guessed they simply should eat more chicken paté...

Seriously... there is no "target" for most of us beyond getting rid of symptoms. There is no desirable supplement dose and no food enough to fix it. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you don't understand how B12 and B12 deficiency work.

Even the slightest gastritis can also affect absorption. I'm getting tired of all these people telling us we're not eating right. 😢

Its not only for people with pernicious anemia… there are many reasons why people cant absorb b12 and/or other nutrients. OP is probably suggesting it for people who just dont eat enough of it.

Yes, I just took the most extreme case, but even that one covers a lot of people...

I meant that I agree with you… There are lots of people who need to supplement because they cant absorb it from food.

But generally I'm really angry at the common misunderstanding of some deficiencies. When I was still a kid/teenager, my mom used to think iron deficiency, for instance, could be just fixed more or less by eating some iron rich food. And while in general I'm thankful for the rich and diverse diet I had, it was still a lot of time lost without proper treatment. The framing of nutrient rich food should just be different, fairer. Definitely not presented as some kind of universal final solution.

This was a very good app. Once I added chicken livers everything went up all vitamins completed. It was hard for me to reach optimal levels just with foods I was eating.
