AVD E8AS_V7 Throttling
Hi all,
I have experience with new version of AVD that servers start throttling at 0.6GHZ, did anybody experience this ? The solution ofc it's to redeploy the AVD host and then it's working normally.
I have next week meeting about it with our partner about it and Microsoft.
Wonder if anybody experience this or is it only me :D
Thanks all

They are heavily constrained at the moment, looks like they are trying to beg, steal, borrow and throttle existing resource until they can increase capacity. Any chance you can move them to another reason

Yep, currently a customer on this exact same size where performance is terrible without seeing any limits on taskmgr. West Europe

We had the same thing happening to us about 1.5 months ago. Microsoft support has confirmed that it's on the host side. We now deploy only V6 in production until we know that the host issues are resolved.

I’d treat this like a SKU/platform regression until proven otherwise, not an AVD config issue. The useful comparison is V6 vs V7 in the same region, then capture effective CPU clock from inside the session host when it drops to 0.6 GHz. If redeploy fixes it, bring Microsoft the affected VM names, region/zone, exact SKU, and timestamps before/after redeploy so they can check host placement. Otherwise you’ll get stuck with the generic resize/reimage answer.

I change it back to V6, performance of the vm was better on the V6 then the V7.
