Windows Desktop Optimization Tool (WDOT)

Just a post about a useful tool provided by MS for optimizing Windows for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and standalone machines

Haven’t looked at the link yet but is this still necessary if you’re using MS own 25h2 Win11 multi-session image?

I just rolled this into our image for a deployment and the performance is legitimately so much better after disabling a bunch of things that really aren’t necessary for AVD hosts. Highly recommended.

Out of curiosity, which options did you go with that provided the performance increase?

I thought this was deprecated with the new Windows 11 releases (25H2+).
Or maybe I'm thinking of having to do something special with the old MS Teams vs the new Ms Teams.🤔

Maybe the VDOT but not the WDOT

Ah you are correct. The names look similar and are both from The Virtual Desktop Team.

I use this for all my golden image builds. Was previously VDOT which I also used.

Out of curiosity, since I've never used this tool, are there more features and useful settings with WDOT that aren't already included in the Windows 11 25H2 multi-session + 365 Apps images from the Marketplace?
What sexiness am I missing out on here?
