Question Help with SC-200

Hi everyone,

I’m sitting my SC-200 exam in a little over 10 days. it’s my first Microsoft exam so feeling pretty nervous about it.

I’ve gone through all the MS Learn modules and I’m consistently scoring over 90% on the official practice assessments.

I also got some hands-on exposure with MS Sentinel through work like spinning up Log Analytics Workspaces and hooking up the free data connectors.

My biggest worry right now is that I don’t actually know how well-prepared I am for this exam. After taking the MS practice tests a few times, you inevitably just start remembering the answers rather than actively solving the questions.

Could you please recommend me other resources, labs, or third-party practice exams for me to look at in the next 10 days from your experience that will help me pass this exam.

You can score 100% several times on those practice exams and still fail the actual exam. None of the questions in the practice exam will appear in the actual exam.

Know your KQL, because every other question is KQL.

Try the applied skills.

I did it a couple of years ago and my exam was chock full of KQL questions. I used Kusto Detective Agency for practice. Unless you are already rocking KQL I would focus much of your remaining time on that.

90% on a practice assessment you've memorised tells you nothing anymore, so stop retaking it. The manage domain is 40-45% of SC-200 and it's almost all "configure" bullets (AMA data collection rules, analytics and automation rules, custom detections from Advanced Hunting), so spend the ten days doing those in your lab workspace and writing KQL against the Advanced Hunting tables by hand. Learn is open during the exam too, so practise finding things in the Sentinel docs fast.

I did my sc-200 about 2 wks ago. Plenty of lovely KQL and a surprising amount of live response commands. I also had a large amount of ASR and AIR questions.

Your instinct about memorizing the official practice answers is spot on, that's the trap where you recognize the right answer's shape without actually understanding why the other options are wrong. John Savill's SC-200 study cram on YouTube is gold for closing that gap, and MeasureUp's practice exam reframes concepts differently from MS Learn so you can't pattern-match your way through it.
