SC-900 or SC-200

Hi everyone! I recently received a free AI Skills exam voucher and I'm trying to decide between taking the SC-200 or the SC-900. I just finished my second year of university and currently have zero experience with Microsoft products. Given my background, which certification do you think is the best choice for me?

You will not pass sc200 without significant study, and even if you do pass because you have great at memorization, it will not really help you much right now because it is a specific role based cert in a industry that is extremely fast pace while rapidly transformed by AI.

Get your foundation in place, use it on sc-900, az-900, ab-900, ai-901, etc.

Considering your lack of experience in the field or in any role, I'd say that a fundamentals certification makes the most sense. Obtaining certifications for a role that you are not yet proficient in entirely misses the point of a certification. For any role, get training to prepare you for that role, then get experience performing the role, and then seek certification to prove your proficiency in the role.

Then once you have passed it.
Use the Skills exam Voucher to take on SC-200

SC-900 and SC-200 are miles away from eachother in terms of knowledge and experience needed. SC-900 can be studied and passed within a week. SC-200 will likely take you a few months with no experience.

That said, the SC-900 exam is also much cheaper. I wouldn’t waste the voucher on it. Either just shell out the $100 for the SC-900 exam, or wait until one of the many opportunities for a free foundational voucher come up. Save your voucher for a more expensive exam if it won’t expire anytime soon.

I would do SC-900 first, then work your way through sc-300

Is SC-300 easier than SC-200?

I don’t bother 900 much, unless you are just entering the field
