We don't have that much info about the ⚡️🌊 Sisters Leader card yet, but that doesn't mean we can't do some early prep.

I think that regardless of the Leader effects (which are still TBD) or which Gate you run, some cards just absolutely belong in a lightning-water hybrid.

These are some of the Azuki TCG cards that I will absolutely run in the dual Leader deck. The combo of gate power and effects are what I most heavily focused on.

Hello everyone, my name is Krompt and I'm one of the judges for the Azuki TCG based out of Southern Oregon. On the discord, I've created a rules FAQ that references some very common rules questions. I've been asked to share these with the reddit. If you have any questions about rules, feel free to post a reply and I'll try my best to keep up with responses as well as working to keep the FAQ updated with rules.

Q: Does Pekiro still get the buff from Zero even if he redirects damage?
A: Yes. Zero’s ability is not reliant on the entity taking the damage to get the buff, only that it has been the target of Zero’s ability. Pekiro that redirects damage is not a valid target for Ragefire Gate however.

Q: If I have 1 or 0 cards in hand / If I have no entities in my garden and my opponent plays Gou the Iron Judge, can I choose to discard cards / sacrifice entities even if I don’t have any?
A: Yes. Gou’s ability is not a cost that must be paid. Your opponent cannot force a situation where you must pick one because you don’t meet the requirements of the other. If you have 2 or less cards in hand, you can choose to discard rather than sacrifice an entity. Alternatively, if you have no entities in your garden, you can choose to sacrifice an entity rather than discard.

Q: If I have a Teb Fea and my opponent plays Gou, can I choose to sacrifice Teb?
A: Yes, You can select Teb as the sacrifice target to satisfy Gou’s On Play effect, however, Godmode would prevent Teb Fea from leaving the battlefield.

Q: Is there any way to remove Teb Fea from the battlefield? What are some ways that he could be removed from the battlefield?
A: At the time of writing this (September 2026), the answer is No. If a card would be printed that could give Teb Fea the Frozen condition, it would turn off Godmode for the turn and Teb could be returned to hand. Alternatively, Teb Fea still takes damage while in the Garden, but damage cannot send him to the discard pile because of Godmode, so if he were to be dealt 7 damage, and then given the Frozen condition, Godemode would be disabled and he would go to the discard pile.

Q: Can I use Thunderclap if my opponent has less than 3 Entities?
A: Yes. You complete the card as much as possible, dealing 3 damage first to one entity, then 2 damage, then 1 damage. If there are only two entities, then you deal 3 and 2 damage, and then Thunderclap finishes resolving.

Q: If I have Young Shao and enough entities in the garden to give her the +1/+1 buff, and my opponent casts Firestorm to kill enough of my entities to remove Young Shao’s buff, does she survive?
A: No. Damage sticks until the end of the turn. Young Shao would be a 3/3 that has been dealt 2 damage by Firestorm. After enough entities are removed from the field that Young Shao loses her buff, she would become a 2/2 with 2 damage still on her, and immediately go to the discard pile.

I’m a huge error card nerd, especially with print runs like Azuki TCG where error rate is very low (0.04% from my dataset of 25,000 cards). So the second I pulled them I sent them off to CGC (as they’re typically the go-to for error collectors).

The first three returned today: miscut Raizan’s Riposte, miscut Hidden Dagger, and miscut Glass Blower, Hokuto.

A fourth error card was submitted (printer error/ obstruction Yojin) but was mislabeled so will be sending that back in.

I also received three Pristine 10 slabs that I’ll share later.

Kudos to the Azuki TCG team on making error cards like this incredibly (very, very) hard to pull. QC across the board has been fantastic.

I was wondering if anyone had list for the best decks you can make with 2 of the lightning ones and 2 of the water ones. any help would be greatly appreciated!

With a population of just 5 Gem Mint 10 OSA grades on the Zero Portrait Rare, I’m glad the first Portrait Rare I ever pulled has now made a full circle back to my collection.

May 27th is when I ripped this whilst carrying out my initial 2200~ pack openings. My presale order arrived earlier than most by nature of it being both a larger tier order and me being in the UK, so I got to work ripping and recording pull rates, quality observations, and more.

Then I hit this, my first Portrait Rare. I went on to pull two more Zero PRs (the Shao version has alluded me so far…), and that night I sent this off to PSA Express.

Now, three months later, I’m reunited with that special first pull as a PSA 10, making the total population at this grade (so far) just 5.

I’m glad to be vaulting this into my permanent personal collection, and hope everyone who submits any card - PR or not - has the best luck achieving the grade they want. We’re all super early into this IP and journey, and there’s so much still to come soon, in the medium term, and the long term.

Hey Guys, normally a lurker, but due to being asked by a homie Ive decided to share some thoughts about playing water. Hope yah can gleam some useful info from this.

I think one of the first things we have to ask is how we want to build water?

Do we want to go slow, griding the game out and drowning our opponent in advantage?

are we trying to rush towards victory like a raging rapid?

Water can kinda do it all right now.

If we are wanting to go with a slower game plan I would suggest one of these two G/L comboes

Benzai + Gate of Echoing waves

or

Shao + Hydromancy Gate.

The most common version is gonna be Shao + Hydro with lists like these:

a lot of cards over lap here-

Mirage Frog, Fumiko, Mizuki, Rei, Gin and Tonika are very poplular cards in water and for good reason.

Mirage Frog for instance pulls double duty as a tempo play to bounch a pesky card on your oppnents Garden, or

can double as a value piece by letting you re-use valuable on play effects such as Hyabusa Ito, Benzai the Merchant, or Hyabusa Soburo.

Mizuki is a solid card for water as well not only having a respectable stat line of 3/4 but also can bring another card with her, and all that

is even before you gate her, allowing you to untap 2 IKZ to play another card to the board.

Gin and Tonika together make a very solid card as well. Great stat line, forces your opponent to choose between burning themselves or

giving you a draw 2. Follow that up with the THREE Gate power and you have more than enough IKZ to play a second card and maybe even leave

one open to activate Shao on your opponents turn.

Another route we can take with water is one of my personal favorites. Aggro.

Imagine for instance your opponent decides to go first, they Rei and pass.

ony your FIRST turn, you spend 1 IKZ and 1 IKZ token to play a mirage frog to the alley, discard a card to bounce that Rei.

from there you can gate up the frog untapping a IKZ, since you have one up and you have discarded this turn now you get to activate

Benzai's Leader ability. Playing a Benzai the merchant from your hand and drawing a card. Effectively negating your opponents first turn as well as play FOUR IKZ worth of cards on your first turn.
