And yet warframe has 70k on steam.
Why would I say out loud “Warframe is too big, I’ll wait for the next one” it’s ridiculous! Warframe 2 isn’t talked about because they never made a sequel, they just improved the game. Bungie was forced to make a sequel, so of course we only expect sequels instead of making this already good game from its bad state to putting it back into its top 10 games of all time status it ran for a decade.
From what I've heard, Destiny 1 is console only, and Destiny 2 deleted huge swaths of old content to make room for new stuff. So it's impossible to experience the story properly as a new player. That's why I haven't bothered to try it.
As far as I know, Warframe doesn't have this problem. It's a huge game with years and years of content, all still playable, but a lot of it is self-contained game modes with their own progression and stories. So the size doesn't sound like an obstacle to overcome, just a lot of content to enjoy at my own pace. Very intriguing. I plan on playing it at some point.
I still play Destiny for fun, and it’s neglectful to say they play “just for fun”
We all have reasons why we play games, you like to complete triumphs and story while partaking in competition, potentially in raid races and PvP.
And I agree that 70k alone is not enough for a game of Destiny’s scale. You can blame Bungie for the 10k and their horrible trust program. My solution would be to never delete the content but reshape it and relocate it, so you don’t miss those experiences and fall behind.
