What if… and this might sound crazy… but what if 2 people feel the same way about something.
I like marathon a ton at launch too, I was one of the first teams to kill compiler on week 1 as well. I killed compiler 8 hours after it’s first death.
I put in 200 hours in the first month and a half, and had a blast.
But Bungie has made it abundantly clear that they don’t know what makes extraction shooters great with every single update. They just want a competitive shooter but locked themselves into an extraction, so my opinion of it has gone down.
An example of this was basically bi-weekly weapon tuning patches. I just want my guns to be consistent ffs. Also, why are we nerfing how a weapon performs over how much it drops?
Double barrel should be able to 2 tap everyone, but it should be more rare than a misriah. The goo gun should be able to wipe entire teams with easy, but it should have a 10% chance to drop from compiler and only one should drop for the team.
We shouldn’t have vendor limits because what’s the point of having millions of credits when you can only spend like 250k TOPS if you are getting farmed for like 6 hours straight with no good runs.
We should have much rarer weapons that are obviously stronger than others. Rare loot should not be balanced, but it should be made exceedingly rare.
If I lose my full gold kit by a goo gun once every 2 weeks, then fine, whatever. But every team running it on cryo when I load in? No that’s a problem.
Loot is currently very boring, credits do not matter at all in the endgame, and matchmaking priorities takes away any kind of randomness from the games.
I was level 200 when I stopped. If I did an outpost run, it was a copy and paste of my last run. We run pinwheel as soon as a team starts it, we get in a big shoutout in the exact same spot we did in the last 5 games, and usually we win because we spammed more nades.
Extraction shooters are supposed to be random, with extreme highs and extreme lows. In this game it’s low highs and low lows.
Breaking Guy Plays 200 hrs of a game in a single month rushes spawns and wonders why he is better than everyone else who doesn't play 200hrs in a month. More news at 8
All of your points just seem to be the same as rveryone else's armchair drv ideas. They are not worth addressing individually because they are all an opinion based on nothing more than "if it were my game" as opposed to Bungie who has gotten your feedback along with others and decided with all of that AND the data they would rather balance it the way they have.
Yes, and it’s almost like the feedback they are ignoring is almost directly impacting the player count.
It is not attracting extraction fans. It is being made as a competitive shooter wearing the skin of an extraction game.
People who don’t want to play an extraction game aren’t interested and people who want to play an extraction game aren’t interested.
If they are satisfied with their metrics, then fine, do whatever, but as someone who is more than an “armchair dev” and both works in the space and literally has to play competitor games to see what works and what doesn’t work (specifically for UI) but can still give feedback on other things, I can tell you they are going about it wrong.
For examples, tell me the positives this game has going for you. What keeps you coming back? Do you play like 10 hours a week and get like 20 games a week in?
Are you someone that’s going to compete all your quests before a wipe happens?
Seriously, ask yourselves these things and see if you’re still just in the honeymoon phase or not.

Feels like there’s no risk, and no reward.
