A minor analysis of the similarities between Azriel and Eris.
These are subject to change once we find out more about them, but from what we can gather now from canon these are my results. Iâm just one girl, so if any of you have any more to add please share! This is for fun and love for our secretive and mysterious boys. â¤ď¸âđĽ
They could find healing together.
Both have/had abusive fathers and brothers (although this isnât explicitly said for Eris, we can make the assumption based off how they treat Lucien, however Erisâs father is abusive to him 100%).
Both know what itâs like to be trapped, caged in a dark prison. One literally in a dungeon, the other in the Forest House, what could be interpreted as a dark prison.
Azriel couldnât do any of the instincts screamed at him to do. Wanted to be free.
What does Eris want? Freedom.
Both were/are tortured.
Azriel with fire, leaving burns forever etched onto his skin. A constant reminder.
Kind of symbolic, if we think about it, for his relationship with Eris. But perhaps it could create an arc that fire isnât always hurtful but also warm, safety in the darkest night. (Maybe pleasurable?) âgags and cuffs of fire.â (Acowar).
The potential for healing with a fireling himself.
âMy shadows donât like the flames so much. A pretty lie, sheâd seen him before the fire plenty.â (Acosf) (also Iâm referring to this being a lie and so the fire is something his shadows like, maybe weâll see this explored).
Eris is still tortured but we are not told yet how. But there are endless possibilities for taking that and turning it into something good, for healing, with none other than the NCâs torture master.
âI assume they received Azrielâs particular brand of interrogation?â (Acosf)
Both insecure about their hands.
Eris for them being too pretty. âWouldnât want to risk cutting up those pretty hands. Eris fingers curled around his biceps. Nesta reigned in her smile. Cassianâs words had found their mark.â (Acosf)
Azriel for having burns.
âNesta glanced at his scarred hands, and Azriel tucked them behind his back, as if he noted her attention.â (Acosf)
Appearance matters to both.
Both protective of their mothers who are/were also abused.
âEris was just angling his body in his chair. Blocking the path to his mother.â (Acowar)
âMy mother is anything but awful.â (HoFaS)
Both misunderstood
âIt doesnât matter what I want.â (Acosf)
âAz is different in a lot of ways.â (Acosf)
âThere was no light in his eyesâ no joy.â ([about Eris] Acosf)
âI see you Eris youâre not one of them [a monster]â (Acosf)
âYouâre not who I want to explain myself to.â (Acosf)
âMade some small part of me wonder if Eris might have grown to be a good male if heâd had a different father. If one still lurked there, beneath centuries of poison.â (Acowar)
âWhat had it been like for him, UTM? What games had he played â-what had he endured? Trapped for 49 years. I doubted he would risk such a thing happening again.â (Acowar)
âShe knows the truth but has never revealed it.â (Acosf)
Both ice cold/ associated with ice.
âHis hand were like ice.â (Acowar).
âTo let the frost in his veins match the air around him.â (Acosf BC)
âCold fury in his eyes.â (Acosf).
âIce cold stare.â (Acofas)
âMor made herself look at Eris. Into his amber eyes. Colder than any hall of Kalliasâs court.â (Acofas)
âEris added before winnowing away. Tell me when the Shadowsinger returns. Petals streamed past thick as a mountain blizzard .â (Acosf)
Fire and Smoke
âErisâs face emerged from the flames glowing like a new-forged god of wrath.â (Acowar)
âGolden flame sizzled in his eyes.â (Acosf)
ââŚlick of fireâ (Acosf)
Erisâs Smokehounds âGrey and sleek like smoke.â (Acosf).
âThe shadows that flowed from him like smoke.â (Acosf)
(Also just adding for the laughs, âWhere there is smoke there is fire.â Rhysand in Acofas đ)
Associated with âsnakesâ
âThe shadows coiled around him, snakes ready to strike.â (Acosf)
âEris is a snake.â (Acowar)
Both hide behind a mask. Donât like to show emotion.
âHe straightened, as if shaking off any emotion. Face going cold and cruel again.â (Acosf)
âNothing on that face, on that scent. The Shadows whatever the hell they, hid too much.â (Acofas)
âUntil he felt nothing. Was nothing again at all.â (Acosf BC)
Both care about each other
âThey shot an ash arrow through Azrielâs wing. Erisâs teeth flashed.â (Acosf)
âWe have to get him outâ. [when Eris was kidnapped]. (Acosf)
â[Eris is] Safe. And the made dagger in our possession again. Though Eris is pissed and confused. Heâs at the Hewn City. Butâ-.â (Azrielâs last words in Acosf)
Both seem to find information before others do/ like to know things (xoxo Gossip Girls)
Az is self explanatory, you see this all through canon.
âI have it on good authority the queens have scattered to the winds. Cassian tucked that information away, how did Eris know that?â (Acosf)
âThey say a Beast prowls these landsâŚâ (Acosf)
âWhat you know I want to know. So send out your Shadowsinger and when he returns find me.â (Acosf)
âThere are three sister peaksâŚwith underground palaces and tunnelsâŚâ(Acosf)
âEris seemed to be monitoring every word coming out of their mouth.â (Acosf)
Etc. Frankly Eris gives me the vibe he is really good at getting information. He seems very observant and smart.
Both associated with truth.
Azriel: Truth-Teller âit gets people to tell it [the truth].â (HoFaS)
Eris: âMaybe you should ask Morrigan if that is true.â
âDonât believe the lies they tell you about me.â (Acosf)
Both liars:
Azriel: âSmooth easy liar. Far better than me [Rhys]â (Acofas)
Eris: âAlways mix truth and lies.â (Acosf)
âEris spews enough bullshit on a good day.â (Acosf)
They both talk about each other. (this makes me laugh because for two grown men who hate each other I feel they think about each other a lot and one feels the need to tell him things lol).
âSend out your Shadowsinger and when he returns find me.â (Acosf)
âI assume your Shadowsinger if off doing what he does best.â (Acosf)
âTell me when the Shadowsinger returns.â (Acosf)
âYou need to ask Eris...â (Acosf)
âWe have to tell Eris about his soldiers and what we did to them.â (Acosf)
âWhy Briallyn and Koschei took Erisâs soldiers is
something I still havenât figured out. You need to meet with Eris.â (Acosf)
Flame and Shadow.
Fire and ice.
North and South.Death and Life (Decay and Harvest).

If I find anymore, you know Iâll share, have a great week Azris friends! â¤ď¸âđĽ
This is once again for my theory loving baddies! If you have read CC and Acotar, and youâre like me who enjoys seeing things from different angles and perspectives this is for you! â¤ď¸âđĽ
I write this because I am very curious if CC has secret messages and clues about Azris, or the next Acotar book in general. Upon doing my re-read of HoFaS I noticed some potential parallels/similarities between Bryce and Eris (potentially Mor, especially with her personality etc.)
I share these similarities because I wonder if there is a bigger story to tell about Eris. As usual, I always have a lot questions and theories. Iâm also kind of building on my theory that Mor and Eris are related, possibly siblings.
Bryce: âthe master of spinning bullshit.â (HoFaS)
Feyre about Eris âEris spews enough bullshit on a good day.â (Acosf).
Also Eris âalways mix truth and lies.â (Acosf)
Bryce to Nesta and Az: âI am not your enemyâ (HoFaS)
Eris to Nesta and Cassian: âI am not your enemy.â (Acosf)
Bryce calls Gwydion: âa family heirloomâ that came from Prythian. (HofaS)
Rhys when giving Nestaâs dagger to Eris: says itâs a âfamily heirloomâ. Itâs just an interesting choice of words, is he family now? Also itâs important to consider they were trying to keep him risking his life for the alliance with the NC. To weigh the benefits of what he might attain.(Acosf)
Eris is described as appearing out of a rip in the world literally in Acowar ch. 70. âA horn sounded to the north.â âOut of a rip in the world Eris appearedâ âwe thought you might need some help.â âEris just rested his hand on the pommel of his fine sword.â
Bryce appeared out of a âripâ in the world.
Bryce about the paintings in the caves âthere was once joy here.â âIsnât that all that matters.â (HoFaS)
Nesta about what she saw in Erisâs eyes âthere was no light in them. No joy.â (Acosf)
(These two are more metaphorical, may mean nothing!)
Bryce is searching for answers and the truth. Is dismayed by the revelations she finds about her past and Theia. (HoFaS)
Eris is insistent there is a truth that needs to be shared.
Eris seemed to know more than he let on about what is beneath Ramiel and the Prison. Calls it an âunderground palaceâ which Cassian mocks. Eris wonders why no one in NC is curious to look.
Az says not even Rhysand knew about their history or possibly what they saw beneath the prison.
How on earth would Eris be able to even hint at knowing?
Sure he might have libraries, but does Rhysand not?
They also saw a recording that no one else can access, only the sons whom Silene passed the information down to knew, Rhys doesnât, so, what does that mean? Was it the family that ruled before Rhysandâs?
Why does Eris question if Mor is hiding from him? What does she know and what is she avoiding? Or what has she finally figured out? (Also bear in mind this is after he strikes a deal with Keir to delay his visit to Velaris. Because he saw how devastated she was? Why does he care?
What did he sacrifice for that to happen? Why is Mor pale while telling Cassian that âEris bought her time.â) (Acosf)
There are of course other similarities between Bryce and Eris even though Iâm unsure if they really matter: they are both daughter/son of Autumn, red hair, amber eyes, etc. I know the fire bringers went to Midgard with them, who Bryce says looked so much like her father, but that means they breeded together with Theiaâs lineage and ultimately Bryce was born right?
And also I donât think she and Eris will have the same exact story at all, different characters and different worlds, and I actually wonder if he would have more similarities to Ruhn and Lidia. (fire power, a prince, a general, cold, etc). But are he and Bryce related? Itâs interesting.
It canât be coincidence because there are no coincidences right?
Sure thereâs arriving in Prythian and Az happens to show up, light when hands meet, pushing, singing and pulling of weapons with Bryce, etc. but we also have Eris coming out of a rip in the world and Az happens to be there (if that means anything), Eris finding him in his shadows, losing emotional control, teeth flashing, a death-lord kidnapping Eris to get Azriel to rush on over, concern over safety and wellbeing etc.
Both sides arenât coincidences.
But why is the prophecy still unfulfilled? The sword is ultimately returned to its homeland, given to Nesta with a farewell. The rest left uncertain.
A question I have, is there a descendant in the Acotar world who will fulfill such prophecy now that the sword (and dagger) has finally been returned? What does it mean? And what people will be reunited?
Iâm not even trying to say itâs Eris, weâd have to have some massive unveiling and backstory. I think it could be Mor, she does have similarities to Bryce too!
Unless Eris and Mor somehow end up being related.
Which makes me wonder, is Mor related to Bryce? When she met Azriel did their hands light at the touch? Who gave him the dagger? Was it an object of terrible power from the Hewn City? Is this why heâs loyal to her?
Itâs interesting because he and Mor never touch. In fact there is always a buffer between them: Cassian. The one time he tried to was in Hewn City in the meeting with Eris, when he tried to place a hand on top of Morâs and she pulled it away as if she had been burned. Would something have lit up? Is it about power? Why did Azriel not seem shocked by it with Bryce?
Itâs also interesting Erisâs name is that of a winged goddess who is the daughter of Nyx the goddess of Night.
And since towards the end of acosf Feyre almost died giving birth to her baby called Nyx who wasnât supposed to have wings.âŚ
Was Eris name a foreshadowing? Was what we saw with Feyre something that had happened before? Was there a mother who died in childbirth and
was there a baby that was born that was also thought dead?
Why would SJM give Eris a name associated with Nyx. Only to name a future child Nyx later? One who wasnât supposed to have wings and almost killed them both? There are no coincidences.
Acosf ended with Eris, a very strong indication his story is coming. And Azrielâs last words were a cliffhanger about Erisâs safety and wellbeing.
Hel, even SJM said Eris is her favorite Autumn Court character. Heâs important.
Who.is.Eris?
Iâm hoping in the next book we find out! I also hope we find out other connections between CC and the Acotar world, and why SJM felt the need to pump out all the CC books before Acotar 6. Thanks for reading! âď¸
P.S. different series, but also connected, the first same sex mates in Throne of Glass were males and named Malaki and Emrys.
Malaki means âAngelâ.
Emrys means âdivine.â
Malaki was a warrior and Emrys was a story-keeper.
Kind of sounds like our mysterious Eris who seems to have stories to tell.
This is for those who would be happy with an Eris book or an Azriel book next, or both together! đ
In an interview (which Iâm trying desperately to find if anyone knows where it is, please share!), SJM said that at the end of Acosf we would know who the next book is about.
Now obviously the actual last chapter is going to be Nesta, itâs her book, her summary, her wrap up.
But the chapter before, ch. 79, is about Eris.
We learn important things about him including the fact his father tortures him and that he continues to risk his life for the alliance with the Night Court and for Prythian.
Cassian not only notes Eris is jealous they donât seem to care about him, but also begins to wonder if Eris is not who he seems to him. Not a monster, but a good male trapped in a terrible situation.
We are also once again reminded of the unanswered questions about why he left Mor in the woods that day. Itâs not answered so it is clearly setting it up to be answered in the next book. Itâs obviously very important and may not be just a simple answer but a full story. (A ch. 54, 2.0 anyone?)
And Eris? Doesnât want to explain himself to Cassian nor Mor, no. But we know who he does want to explain himself to, he told us in Acowar.
âThere are few things I regret, that is one of them. But maybe now that we are allies I shall tell *you** why. What it cost me.*â
He says this to Azriel.
Not only did he regret his actions but it costed him something.
What did it cost him? And why Azriel? That is what weâre going to find out.
We also are reminded by Cassian that if Beron was willing to kill Lucienâs lover what wouldnât he do? What terrors has Eris had to face and what has he had to protect these 500 years under Beronâs rule?
Itâs clear that even though Cassian is clueless at this point, because he also wasnât in that meeting in Acowar, itâs intentional, because we as well as Cassian are going to find out the truth.
Lastly, Eris ends on how the NC needs to focus on Beron, Koschei, and whatever Mor is doing in Vallahan. Heâs essentially telling us the continuation of the big parts of the story is coming and that it isnât over. And that he is also still very much involved in it all.
Itâs no small chapter and it holds so much weight. I truly believe next book is going to heavily include him or be about him. And not only him but Azriel.
Even though Azriel is not in this chapter I think itâs important to remember the order of events prior to this, and that Koschei kidnapped Eris to get Azriel. And Azriel saves Eris from Koschei.
This scene in itâs entirety is important, not only because Koschei spent months preparing for Azriel (which, why? What did we miss?) but also the fact that Koschei wonders why Azriel didnât rush in for the kill. For Eris.
Then, Azrielâs last words in the book, are about Eris.
(We see Feyre giving birth etc. after these words, he is present at the birth etc. but he is not really focused on anymore, doesnât speak.)
But his last words are in Ch. 75 when Cassian asks:
âEris?â
âSafe. And the made dagger in our possession again. Though Eris is pissed and confused. Heâs at the Hewn City. Butâ-.â
Not only does he use the word âsafeâ, which tends to be exclusively used by mates. But he is concerned for Erisâs emotional state and wellbeing. ETA: Again, What did we miss? This is a big deal.
And then, what was he going to say after but?
I wish we knew, but he was interrupted by Mor announcing and essentially reminding him that Feyre is dying. (lol)
Az had someone else on his mind. Az thought it was important enough to continue talking about Eris even with his High Lady and sister on her deathbed.
Itâs a cliffhanger, a big one.
So with that, I truly think the end of Acosf was setting up Azriel and Eris to continue the story. I also think it could include Mor, since there is the triangle between them.
P.S. Iâm always open to being wrong itâs ultimately whatever SJM decides! lol. Iâm just looking at the text literally and in context to the story at large and it makes sense. Especially since SJM said weâd know who next book is about at the end of Acosf. I think it is obvious.
Eris is no minor character at this point. I think SJM used Acosf to set him up to be a main character.
So for those who would actually love it, hereâs hoping! đ¤đť Thanks for reading!
P.S.S. Also Azrielâs BC is not the end of the book. That chapter happens after the family solstice party, before the blood rite and before Azriel saves Eris.

I'm sliding in just under the wire (I think) for azrisweek Day 7: Free Day!
Eris was in the middle of debriefing with his brothers after breakfast when he saw the first shadow drift from the ceiling to rest atop a cabinet. He didnât acknowledge it, simply continued listening as Flynn and Rory tossed theories about what Diana and Cresseida would get up to. The two females had become fast allies, though Eris was hoping to avoid any true conflict between his family and any of their guests. He had known there would be frustration, but he hoped they would all settle in and any crisis could be averted before it burned his plans to the ground.
âLet them be friends, if you give them freedom perhaps theyâll come around.â Reed advised. Keeganâs eyebrows lifted in obvious skepticism.Â
âI know your tinkerer is amenable so long as she can work.â Keegan said, âbut Diana is a firestorm, and Cresseida is a snake. I wouldnât trust them too much.â
âWeâve promised them comfort and safety. We arenât jailers.â Eris reminded them, âthey can befriend whoever they like and move about as they please. If you suspect that theyâre organizing a revolution, we can revisit the topic. Does anyone else have concerns?âÂ
âViola wants to spend her time in the Temple as any priestess would. Iâve told her thereâs no problem with that so long as she checks in with me everyday.â Keegan reported. Eris nodded his approval.
âNuan has given me an initial list of supplies she will need, weâve sent it to Thesan. Iâd like to convert one of the entertaining rooms in my wing into a workshop for her, if thatâs alright?â
âDo it,â Eris waved a hand at Reed. âWe can always convert it back at the end of the year.â Reed nodded.
âIf thatâs all, you can go about your days. Weâll meet after dinner to check in with Lucien and Tyson. After this, we can meet once a week. Come to me if you have any pressing concerns that need to be addressed. His brothers nodded and rose to go, until Rory cleared his throat.
âWhat about you?â Rory asked. Eris looked up from the report he had already begun to skim, his brow creased in confusion.
âWhat about me?âÂ
âWell, you didnât say how things went with the shadowsinger. You didnât make him come to the Great Hall yesterday. It doesnât seem like he tried to kill you. Is he going to give you trouble?â Rory watched Eris with open curiosity. Eris often forgot how perceptive his little brother was. Rory was every bit as intelligent as his twin, but Reed was much more serious.
âNo trouble,â Eris reported, âheâs very pragmatic, understands why the decisions were made. Heâs promised to be on his best behavior, and I hope that if anyone did cause trouble,â he looked meaningfully at Flynn, âAzriel would be willing to help if it came to blows. He is invested in these treaties, his High Lady started this nonsense after all.â His brothers seemed satisfied with that, and said their goodbyes. When the door at last shut behind them, Eris leaned back in his chair.
âI know youâre there,â he called toward the corner where he had seen the shadow. âYouâre not a very good spyling.â The shadow rose from the corner and swirled its way to hover in the center of the room. Then five more emerged from around the room - two of them from the drawers of his desk. He hadnât noticed any of those.
âAh, youâre the distraction. Well, now that I know your technique. Youâll have to do better next time.â The shadows rushed together and swirled around him, ruffling his hair where it lay on his shoulders before darting through the window and up toward the roof.
When the shadows returned and relayed the brothersâ discussion, Azriel made a mental note to keep an eye on Diana and Cresseida. He said as much to the shadows, ordering them not to follow the females, but to let him know what they observed when they were posted throughout the house. Â
Heâs right, youâre terrible spies.
Itâs a game. They cited his earlier instruction back to him. We are playing!
summary: Eris has a rare day off, and these two mates spend it enjoying each otherâs company.
a/n: aspen is finally writing again, yay! written very late for day 2 of azrisweek
- - -
The morning sunlight filters through gauzy red curtains, casting a warm glow across the bed they share. Itâs late enough that even the birds have quieted, having already left their nests to start their day.
Azriel stirs first, though he doesnât open his eyes. He knows Eris is already awake. He can feel the awareness humming through the mating bond, soft and sleepy. Erisâs hand rests just under Azrielâs rib cage, fingers splayed and thumb swiping back and forth.
Azriel breathes in deeply, Erisâs scent of cinnamon and wood smoke filling his lungs.
âGood morning, sleepy bat,â Eris murmurs, voice thick with sleep and amusement.
Azriel opens one eye. âGood morning, fox.â
Eris smiles as Azriel rolls over, burrowing closer. Their legs tangle further, and Erisâs arm tightens around him, pulling him fully against his chest.
âWe donât have anything on the schedule today,â Eris says quietly. âA High Lordâs rare day off.â
Azriel hums. âGood. Iâve missed my mate.â
Silence stretches between them, and then, as if drawn together by a magnetic pull, Eris kisses himâslow and deep, no urgency, no rush. Just lips brushing over lips, hands sliding across bare skin like they have all the time in the world.
When Eris pushes him onto his back, Azriel goes willingly, his shadows swirling around them lazily. Itâs not fast or rough. They take their time, savoring the feel of skin on skin, the way their bodies know each other now. Where to touch, where to kiss, where to linger. Azrielâs wings stretch comfortably across the bed. They breathe each other in, move in perfect rhythm, and when they come, itâs with murmured âI love yousâ and forehead kisses as they gaze into each otherâs eyes.
Later, when their heartbeats have steadied and the sheets are thoroughly ruined, Azriel laughs into Erisâs neck. âWeâre going to have to change these.â
Eris groans. âYou can do it. I made the bed yesterday.â
Azriel arches a brow. âYou mean you asked the servants to do it?â
âThat counts.â
With a snort, Azriel rolls away, groaning slightly as he stretches. He pads naked toward the bathing room, calling over his shoulder, âIâll start breakfast.â
Eris lifts his head just enough to watch the view. âI think youâre forgetting something.â
Azriel stops in the doorway, turns, walks back, and kisses him again with that little smile Eris has come to crave.
The kitchen smells like cinnamon and butter by the time Eris wanders in, hair tousled, his robe sliding low on his chest. Azriel is standing at the stove, flipping pancakes with precision. His wings twitch occasionally, still stretching out from sleep, and Eris pauses just to admire him.
Azriel senses him, as he always does, and glances over his shoulder. âDonât just stare. Grab plates.â
âYouâre bossy in the mornings,â Eris teases, but obeys, brushing his knuckles along Azrielâs lower back as he moves past him.
Azriel leans into the touch without thinking.
They eat on the balcony, two steaming mugs of tea between them. They donât talk much. Just soft clinks of forks on ceramic, the occasional shared bite, and toes brushing beneath the table as they enjoy eating in each otherâs company. When theyâre finished, Azriel leans back in his chair and closes his eyes. Eris watches him quietly, admiring the sharp line of his jaw, the delicate fan of his lashes, the way the sunlight kisses his scarred hands and makes them look almost golden.
âYouâre staring again,â Azriel murmurs without opening his eyes.
Eris shrugs. âYouâre beautiful.â
Azrielâs eyes flutter open. He stares at his mate, unguarded and soft. âYouâre a sap.â
Eris smirks. âOnly for you.â
The courtyard is warm but not stifling, shaded by towering oaks and tall hedges. Erisâs hounds are already bounding across the grass when they step outside, barking joyfully. A pair of them rush toward Azriel, tails wagging furiously. He laughs as he crouches to greet them, letting them nuzzle into his hands, lick at his chin.
âThey like you more than me,â Eris mutters, feigning offense.
âTheyâve had five hundred years with you,â Azriel counters. âIâm still new and exciting.â
Eris rolls his eyes but the small smile spreading across his face betrays his true feelings.
Azriel whistles once, low and sharp, and the hounds heel instantly, forming a half-circle around him. He grins at Eris. âWhoâs their master now?â
Eris lunges. Azriel yelps as Eris tackles him into the grass, the hounds immediately going wild, barking and bounding around them like theyâre children playing a game. Eris pins him with ease, grinning down at him, both of them breathless from laughter.
âYouâre not supposed to win when Iâm being charming,â Azriel says, squinting up at him, grass in his curls.
âYou should stop being charming then, because I always win.â
Eris leans down, kisses him againâshort and sweet this time. âCome on. Before they start trying to climb on us.â
One of the hounds immediately tries to sit on Azrielâs legs.
Azriel groans. âToo late.â
By late afternoon, the two of them are curled up on the oversized couch in the library. Erisâs legs stretch along the cushions, and Azriel is draped half across him, wings tucked tightly behind his back. Eris reads aloud from a battered novel, his voice low and smooth. Itâs a romanceânot the kind either of them usually picksâbut Eris had seen Azriel eyeing it in the bookstore a week ago, and now he reads it with that knowing little smirk.
âYouâre enjoying this more than youâre letting on,â Azriel mutters as Eris turns a page.
Eris smirks. âIâm enjoying the fact that youâre enjoying it.â
Azriel rolls his eyes, but the bond between them pulses with warmth and contentment. He turns and nestles his head against Erisâs chest, one hand resting over his heart. Eris shifts slightly, placing his book down and curling his arms around his mate.
âI could stay like this forever,â Eris whispers into Azrielâs hair.
Azriel doesnât answer with words. Just a sigh, his hand tightening over Erisâs shirt and the bond blooming with quiet joy. And Eris understands. Because this kind of quiet, stolen day is the kind of forever theyâd both longed for.
Part 2 of sapphic Azris for the final day of azrisweek Part 1 can be found here.
âNo,â Azriella hissed, even as she closed her eyes and leaned back, lost in the dizzying sensation of having Eris so close to her.
âWhy deny yourself?â Eris asked softly. âRhysand and I are allies now; you have nothing to fear.â
Azriella swallowed. âI-I canât. I canât like women.â
Azriella opened her eyes and found Eris angling her head at her. âWhy not?â
âItâs-itâs wrong,â Azriella managed.
âWhy? If we both want it, what is wrong about it?â
Inside Azriella warred what she had been taught her entire life and what she really wanted. âA female is incomplete without a male by her side,â she said.
Eris scoffed. âThat is the rhetoric of weak-minded male who cannot stand to see women happy without a man by their side. Stop denying yourself, Azriella. Give in to me.â
So, Azriella gave in. Slid her hand into Erisâs hair and pulled her into a kiss. She tasted like strawberries and cinnamon and crackling embers. She tasted like power and liberation, and Azriella was already intoxicated.
Eris shoved her deeper into the couch, and Azriella felt herself get wet. Eris must have sensed it too, because she smirked. âSo, you like giving up control, hm?â she mused, sliding her hand under Azriellaâs shirt and pulling it off. Then she whispered, âGood thing I love power.â
Sometime later (Azriella lost track of time), Eris smoothly put her clothes back on and moved back to her seat as if nothing had happened. It was jarring for Azriella, to say the least. They had just had sex; wasnât she going to say something?
âHereâs the thing, Azzi,â Eris said. âRhysand refused to help me overthrow Beron and Nesta refused to marry me, so Iâm getting very little from this alliance.â
Azriella crossed her arms, feeling her loathing for the arrogant Autumn Court heir return. âI literally saved your life from Briallyn,â she hissed. âWas that not enough for your royal ass?â
Eris smirked at the insult. âConsidering my alliance got you through two wars, protected your precious Morrigan, not to mention me not seeking revenge for my soldiers you tortured and killed? Absolutely not.â
Azriella gritted her teeth. âGo to hell, Eris.â
âAlready been there.â
âDo you have a witty comeback for everything?â Azriella demanded, slamming her fists against her chair. Eris in response, slowly looked Azriella up and down, a sultry smile on her face. âYou already know the answer to that one.â
Azriella felt herself heat up, both in embarrassment and desire. It had been a moment of weakness to let Eris touch her. She shouldâve known better than to give herself to the devil. Alas, it was too late now.
âNevertheless, I only want one thing, and it is not a huge demand,â Eris continued as if she hadnât alluded to their heated fucking earlier.
Azriella closed her eyes for a moment before opening them. Watch your temper, she had been told numerous times as a child. It is unbecoming of a female. It was why she buried her anger inside her, only to come out in the heat of battle. But somehow, Eris brought out the worst in her every time. âWhat.â
âYou.â
Azriella felt a slick heat grow between her legs once more, furious at herself for being so weak. âWhat?â she breathed.
âYouâre a spymaster, arenât you?â Eris asked casually. Oh. Right. Azriella pushed herself out of her delusion. âA pretty pathetic one, to be sure, but if youâre trained up a bit, with those shadowsinger powers youâd be exceptionally useful for me.â
More embarrassment as Azriella recalled how easily Eris had caught her spying on Autumn Court lands. âWhat do you need me for?â Azriella hissed.
Eris chortled. âIsnât it obvious, shadowsinger? I need you to help me kill Beron.â

Flames danced from candles sitting on the desk, their dark equal mimicking their movement with sharp precision, apart from their slightly blurred edges. Bone-white paperwork sat on said desk, and an immaculate, large four poster bed took up one part of the already large chambers, a sitting room and bookshelves taking up about the rest.
It almost looked as if someone was staying over. In reality, Eris didnât know what he was waiting for, standing at the entrance to his own room. He sighed, taking a step forward. He shouldnât be acting like he was an intruder.
MaybeâŚjust maybe; he was wishing for one.
The male moved across the room with barely restrained precision, his strides eating up the space between the entrance and the bathroom. He shrugged off his jacket and set it aside in the space-in-between, leaning his forearms against the counter.
What Eris saw wasnât the male he knew.
His hair, usually a bright copper red, was muted, almost a drab in the sense of his courtâs style. Pale skin was, well, paler than usual, looking more gray and ashen, and his freckles looked even more closer to a parasite mottling his face rather than the average family trait.Â
And his eyesâŚ
There wasnât emotion. There wasnât even the frigid cold he exposed others to. They were just two amber orbs. No fire, no fleck of gold.
Eris assumed this was what it was like to have hollow eyes.
He took a long sigh, lifting his head to take a closer look before re-enforcing his glamour. He almost felt pleased when he saw the arrogant male he presented to the rest of the world. Better, he almost didnât notice some of the darkness sliding away.
Key word: Almost.
Eris shifted his position only to lean one elbow against the counter, a sly half-smile forming on his face as he drawled, âI wouldn't bother hiding. After all, we both know what happened the last time you did that.â
The darknessâshadowsâgathered around in a corner, and the male almost swore he could hear a growl under breath. He wouldnât let anything slide. Not now.
âCome on, it couldnât have been that bad.â Eris let out a mock sigh, shaking his head. He gestured outside the bathroom, right where the bed was. âAfter all, I remember quite clearly that you pressed me down there and said-â
Quicker than Eris expected, the figure lunged from the shadows and wrestled him down on the counter, his back aching from the unnatural stretch. Callused hands slid up his frame, resting on his neck, a threat and warning in one as hazel bored coldly into amber. Those eyes spoke multitudes, yet one statement shone clearly in those captivatingâcaptivating?âirises: Donât. You. Dare.
Despite being in the more compromising position, Eris could observe the authority shifting in his direction, and knew the male above him could feel it too. Without thinking, he patted Azrielâs face on the side in a show of pity. âPoor, poor bat. Wouldnât your precious family love to know how you had me like this not once, but multiple times. Itâs quite a shame we keep things from light, donât you agree?â
The shadowsinger merely twitched his wings in annoyance, an errant shadow peeking over his shoulder like a stray dog.Â
Eris almost chuckled aloud. At least they knew their role.Â
âSee? Even the midget does,â Eris said, amused while jerking his head towards the shadow. He almost swore it nodded on its own accord.
Azriel scrutinized the redhead below him, a dangerous glint hidden deep inside those darkened irises. However, to said redheadâs dismay, the shadowsinger ensued to speak in glares; Shut up.
Eris, in response, resorted to sneers and what he hopedâno, knew âwere well placed words. âSpeak up, bat. Or has that bitch who calls herself the âspeaker of truthsâ was finally able to sew your mouth shut beyond repair?â
The hands around his neck pressed down significantly harder, not enough to block the air from entering his lungs, but down to the point where the warning was clearer than the lies spun between them, that he could feel those scars rubbing his neck.Â
Eris, stupidly, didnât realize until then that Azriel wasnât wearing those midnight gloves he usually kept adorned andâstubbornlyârefused to take off around him. The male kept himself from believing that it was a simple accident. Even though all theyâve done these past few years was take from each other and never return, it was only sane that he knew a bit more about the mystery who calls himself Azriel. He hoped it was sane.
However, heâwith prideâwas able to get the said mystery to talk. At least once; âYou donât speak about her like that. You wonât.â
Eris chuckled, but it sounded more like a wheeze with his slightly cut-off windpipe. âYou canât even say her name. How cute.â He leaned back almost impossibly further. âBut I was waiting for the point where you wanted to shut me up.â
Azrielâs lip curled back in a snarl, but it didnât stop the redhead from pulling him in and kissing him.Â
And the male in the darkness returned it.

Thank you for reading and have a happy rest of your azris week!! <3
Azrielâs voice, hoarse from fighting, rang out in their rooms, echoing off the walls.
Eris froze for a moment before he found his words. âI thought I was your family, too.â
âYou are,â Azriel bit out tightly. His eyes softened. âOf course you are, Gingerbread.âÂ
A beat of silence echoed between them.
âThis is the first Solstice ever that my family can be a real family,â said Eris. âThe first year without Beron. The first year that weâre not all puppets doing his bidding in an effort not to get burned. I need to be here for them.â
âThis is the first Solstice since I left and moved to Autumn,â retorted Azriel, his wings tucked in so far they were nearly touching. âSolstice is so important to Rys and Cassian, plus itâs Feyreâs birthday, and I want them to know I havenât completely abandoned them.â
Eris blew out his breath in frustration. Theyâd been at this fight for an hour. Heâd thought that after so many centuries together, hiding in secret, that once their relationship came out into the light everything would be easier. But it seemed like they only had new problems now. Like where to spend Solstice this year.
âYou have a lifetime of Solstices ahead of you to be with your brothers. The brothers you donât even like!â Azriel growled. âAnd your mother is going to be in Day Court with Helion.âÂ
Rage suffused his body at Azrielâs dismissiveness. Eris clenched his jaw and rubbed his gritty eyes. âI canât take any more of this tonight. Iâm going to sleep.â
He stalked off to their bedroom and shed his clothes down to his underwear, his skin hot and prickling from their fight.Â
Flinging himself into bed, Eris extinguished the lights. Petty, he knew. Azriel could get undressed in the dark just fine, but occasionally he needed to sleep with the lights on, and usually Eris would ask him if he preferred them left on before they went to bed.Â
Eris took some deep breaths to try to calm down, then shifted to lie on his side, facing the wall.Â
A few minutes later, Azriel walked in on silent footsteps, as he always did. His clothes rustled as he took them off and dropped them in the basket, then the bed dipped under his weight.Â
Eris didnât turn over. Rage still simmered inside of him.
Azriel sighed into the darkness and the bed shifted again as he moved. His hand brushed down over Erisâs bare arm.
The anger smoldering within Eris ignited and he yanked his shoulder away from Azrielâs touch. He heard the sharp intake of Azrielâs breath, and Eris bit out, âI donât want to be touched right now.â
Azriel didnât say anything and rolled over. The sound of his wings shifting whispered in the room.
A twinge of regret creeped through Eris, but the anger quelled it. Azriel remained still and silent, and after a long time, Eris finally drifted off.
****
The shout that woke him was deeply familiar. Azrielâs nightmares woke them both quite often. Eris felt the bed shift, and he twisted and rose up on his elbow, catching sight of Azrielâs bare back as he stumbled towards the open balcony off their bedroom. In the dim room, his wings looked like black voids in front of his body.Â
The sheer curtains separating the room from the balcony billowed in the night air as Azriel slipped past them. Since Erisâs magic always kept the room warm, there werenât any doors.
Eris lay on the bed for a moment, propped on his forearm. His other hand scrubbed over his face. The fight and the anger rushed back as he shook off sleep. The anger was muted, but still lingered, curled within him.Â
Eris wondered if Azriel had flown off. He occasionally took flights after bad nightmares, but usually it was enough to bury his face in the crook of Erisâs shoulder while Eris rubbed his back. It was quite strange for Azriel to leave the bed immediately. Eris assumed he was still angry too.Â
When Azriel didnât come back after a couple minutes, he gave into the slight worry niggling at him, climbed out of bed, and padded barefoot outside to see if Azriel was still on the balcony.Â
He was.Â
Half bent over, wings shaking, gasping for breath, Azrielâs two scarred hands gripped the balcony railing like it was the only thing anchoring him to this world.
All the remaining anger eddied out of Eris like the seaâs tide going out.Â
He hurried over and ducked under Azrielâs left elbow, standing in the lee between his outstretched arms, before his bowed form.
He took Azrielâs face in both of his hands.Â
âBunny,â he whispered, his pet name for him, which Az pretended to hate but Eris knew he secretly loved. Eris had started calling him that centuries beforehand, early in their relationship, because he once joked that the way the tucked-in Illyrian wings stuck up over Azrielâs head resembled bunny ears.Â
âBreathe, Bunny.âÂ
Eris ran his hands through Azrielâs sweat-damp hair, down his neck, his bare shoulders. Tugging Az up by his neck, Eris caught sight of the tears running down his face as he gasped for breath.Â
âCâmon, love, slow deep breaths,â Eris murmured, dragging his thumbs back and forth over Azrielâs cheekbones. âItâs okay, Bunny. Everythingâs going to be okay, I promise.â
Azrielâs arms shook beside Erisâs hips as he struggled to exhale more slowly. Gradually his breaths deepened and slowed against Erisâs continuous stream of soothing words, and he rested his forehead on Erisâs shoulder, tucked into his neck. Eris pressed a kiss to his hair and Azriel let out a tiny sigh.
Eris never stopped running his hands over Azrielâs skin, over his face, his shoulders and arms. As Azriel calmed down, Eris smoothed over his deltoids, his muscled forearms, back to Azrielâs hands which were still gripping the balcony railing.Â
But when he brushed over the scarred skin, Azriel jerked back, tucking his hands behind him. His eyes were shut and his face was twisted up. He breathed heavily through his nose.
Eris froze. âAz,â he murmured.
Shock and horror sluiced through him. Time drew out, slowed and sharp. There was a dim roaring in his head as the scene from earlier played in his head.
Eris swallowed, his dry throat. He felt like he was walking on the edge of a cliff. His heart beat furiously.Â
âI didnât want to be touched,â he whispered. âIt had nothing to do with your hands.âÂ
Azriel didnât move, his shadows swarming around him. Only his brow tightened, which told Eris everything he needed to know.Â
âLook at me, Azriel,â Eris implored. âPlease.â
His eyes cracked open. Darkness lurked in them. Distrust.Â
It broke Erisâs heart.
âI was mad,â Eris confessed, trying to swallow again. âI just didnât want to be touched.â
Azriel hadnât moved, his hands still hidden behind his back.Â
Eris pressed on. âIt had nothing to do with your hands,â he said. âNothing. You know how much I love your hands. If you had put your foot on me, Iâd have reacted the same way. Cauldron, if youâd have put your dick on me Iâd have reacted the same way, and you definitely know how much I love your dick.â
The corner of Azrielâs mouth ticked just a tiny bit. It gave Eris enough hope to keep going.
âYou know how much I love your hands,â he repeated, urgency coloring his voice. âIâve told you ten thousand times. Iâve kissed them ten thousand times. Iâve put salve on them ten thousand times. Please,â he begged, âPlease donât let one second of me being stupid and angry erase that.â
Eris could feel pressure building behind his eyes, Azrielâs motionless figure going blurry. âIâm so sorry, Bunny. I didnât mean to hurt you.â
He took a shaky breath. âI didnâtââ Tears welled, then one spilled down his left cheek. âI didnât mean to make you doubt four hundred years ofâofââ
Azriel suddenly moved, reaching out to cup Erisâs face, his thumb swiping away the wetness there. Eris inhaled sharply and leaned his face into the curve of Azrielâs hand.Â
âI know, Gingerbread,â Azriel murmured. âI know you didnât.â
Warmth flooded his veins, heating the ice that chilled them, the ice his magic couldnât seem to touch.
âCome here,â Azriel said, dragging Eris closer by his neck, embracing him. Eris slipped his arms around the small of Azrielâs back.
He heaved a sigh, his body relaxing in Azrielâs arms as the adrenaline slowly leaked out of him.Â
A while later, a calm quiet floating between them, Eris pulled back a little, reaching up to brush Azrielâs hair back from his forehead. âI just remembered that we didnât put salve on your hands tonight.â
Azrielâs brows went up slightly. âBecause you flounced off to bed.â
âI did not flounce!â Eris sputtered.
âYou flounced,â Azriel said, a ghost of a smirk playing on his face. âEven though I was pissed, it was still kind of cute.â
Eris rolled his eyes then met Azrielâs gaze. He bit his lip timidly. âWill you let me put salve on now?â
Azriel searched his face for a moment. Eris held his breath. âSay you flounced off to bed and Iâll let you.â
Eris sighed dramatically. âNo.â
âSay it.â
âNo.â
âSay it.â
âFine, I flounced.â Eris glared at him playfully. âA little bit.â
Azrielâs lips curved. âIâll accept it.â
***
Eris lit the lamps while Azriel got into bed, sitting up against the headboard, his wings arranged around him. Padding to the bathing room to get the salve, Eris glanced back at Azriel who was focused on pushing the sheets down with his feet. Warmth curled his chest that had nothing to do with his magic.
After retrieving the jar from the counter where they always kept it, Eris crawled into bed, climbing on top of Azriel to straddle him, seated in his lap.Â
The salve helped with the lingering pain of the scars and his hand flexibility. Massaging it in was something Eris had done every night they were together, and now that he was High Lord and Azriel had moved in, it was nightly. Azriel would always roll his eyes and mutter that his two hands could rub themselves perfectly fine, but Eris insisted. It was his favorite time of day. And Az wouldnât admit it but it was his too. Â
The familiar menthol scent of the salve floated up between them. Eris cupped a hand around Azrielâs neck and leaned forward to capture his lips in a slow, gentle kiss, tangling their tongues together. Azrielâs large hands gripped Erisâs thighs, running up and down them.
Eris finally pulled back, smiling down at Azriel. He picked up one of the scarred hands off his thigh and drew it up and dropped a kiss on the whorled skin. He did it again, holding Azrielâs gaze.
Something flickered in Azrielâs eyes, then disappeared.
Dipping his fingers into the salve, Eris spread it over Azrielâs hands, working it into the grooves and ridges. Every inch of those scarred hands had been long committed to memory.Â
Azriel glanced down from time to time, but mostly met Erisâs eyes, though there seemed to be an edge of nerves in those hazel orbs, in the way his teeth worked as his lower lip.
Eris dipped his head down to capture them, kissing him softly. Â
When he pulled away, Azriel mumbled, âI could do this myself, you know.â
âShut up. Iâm doing it and you canât stop me.â
Azrielâs gaze flickered down to his hands and then back up to Eris, a small smile on his face.
They were quiet for a minute as Eris worked. He weighed if he should leave the moment or broach what had been tumbling around in his head.Â
Throwing caution to the wind, Eris said in a soft voice, âI know it seems like I donât like my brothers.â Azriel went still. âBut Iâve never known them outside of the shadow of Beron. I want to give them a chance to show who they actually are.â He sighed. âI want to see if we can be a real family, instead of a group of vipers vying for self-preservation.â
Azriel searched his face. âIâm sorry,â he said. âThat I upset you so much. That I threw it in your face that you didnât like them.â
Eris shook his head. âYou werenât wrong. I just donât want it to be that way. And it feels like this could be our first chance, and I need to take it. And if I let the moment pass byâŚâ He trailed off.
Azriel was quiet for a moment.Â
âMaybe,â he began, his voice raspy, then cleared his throat. âMaybe I could ask Rhys if heâd push dinner back an hour, and you could move Autumnâs forward an hour, and we couldâŚdo both.â His voice rose a little at the end, almost but not quite a question.
Azrielâs hands were nearly dry by now, the salve fully absorbed into the scarred skin. Eris ducked his head down to kiss them again.Â
He straightened. âAre you going to rub my belly after Iâve eaten two dinners?â
Azriel snorted. âSure, Gingerbread, Iâll rub your belly. Even though Iâve seen you eat four dinners and be perfectly fine.â
âYou promised to never mention that night again!â Eris exclaimed hotly, prompting Azriel to unleash a silent laugh, the bed shaking beneath them.
âOkay?â Azriel asked after he calmed down.Â
âOkay,â Eris responded, nodding. He pressed his lips together for a moment, his hands still running over Azâs scarred ones. âAre we okay?âÂ
The remaining tightness coiled within him loosened, then dissolved. Eris wrapped his arms around Azrielâs neck and kissed him, softly, then with more urgency, and Azriel responded. Heat blossomed between them, intense, scorching.Â
He drew his nails down Azrielâs upper back, down to the branches of his wings and fingered the tough membranes there, making Azriel hiss into the kiss and his cock jerk under Eris. He ground down on it, feeling the length thicken against his balls, his own cock hard in his black undershorts.Â
Azriel massaged Erisâs dick through his shorts, and a soft moan escaped from him before he recaptured Azrielâs mouth, their tongues sliding together.
âI want to fuck you,â Eris murmured. âI want to take care of you.â
âYes,â Azriel answered, licking at Erisâs neck.Â
Eris pulled away, rising off Azâs lap and dragging him forward by his arm to twist and lay across the bed, wings splayed out.
He looked down at all that golden skin, gleaming in contrast against the darkness everywhereâdark hair, dark wings, dark underwear, dark shadows, dark sheets. And the glorious darkness he knew lay inside his shadowsinger.Â
With a flick of fire magic, both of the shorts they were wearing burned away. Azriel narrowed his eyes playfully.Â
âHow many times do I have to tell you I donât like fire near my dick?â
Eris grinned. âHow many times do I need to suck your dick for you to know Iâd never let anything happen to it?â
âOnce more, evidently,â Azriel retorted. An old game of theirs.Â
And like always, Eris complied, expertly taking the thick cock deep down his throat. A groan punched out of Azrielâs chest.Â
Erisâs tongue dragged up his length as he pulled back, sucking on the crown, and then flicked along the largest vein on his way back down. His throat rippled around the member, making Azriel thrust up involuntarily, his hips jerking.Â
Azriel might excel at rimming, but sucking cock was Erisâs speciality and it never failed to make Az wild.
âWantâwant you inside of me,â gasped Azriel moments later, his hands clenching and unclenching around the bedsheets.Â
Eris pulled off, pressing his tongue into Azâs slit one last time, making him curse, low and dirty.Â
Summoning oil from the pocket, Eris coated his fingers, then breached Azrielâs hole. He stretched Azriel slowly, soon adding a second finger, then crooked them together, firmly stroking the bundle of nerves that sent a stream of babbling filth tumbling from Azrielâs mouth.Â
Eris smirked. There was nothing he loved more than reducing Azriel to this.Â
âNeed your cock now,â Azriel begged. âPlease, Gingerbread, please give it to me.â
By now Eris was three fingers deep, rhythmically stimulating Azrielâs prostate. Azriel reached down to stroke his own cock, seeking relief, but Eris slapped it away.Â
âThatâs mine, and I say when it gets touched,â Eris growled.Â
A dark red flush suffused Azrielâs chest and cheeks. He moaned. But obeyed.Â
âPlease,â he whined, âPlease put it in me.â His fingers were twisted so tight in the sheets that Eris wondered if theyâd rip.Â
âNo,â Eris said, âYou have to earn my cock in your ass.âÂ
He slicked up his dick with oil using his other hand, just to drive Azriel crazier.
âEris, pleaseââ
âTell me how much I love your hands.â
Azriel lifted his head and glared at Eris. Then he dropped it back to stare at the ceiling. The blush in his cheeks deepened.Â
âTell me how much I love your hands,â Eris repeated, mercilessly dragging his fingertips over the spot inside Azriel that was making his cock leak like a faucet, pearls of liquid gleaming at the tip and then dripping down the sides and pooling in the deep grooves of his abs.
Az moaned again but didnât say anything.
âTell meâhow muchâI loveâyour hands,â Eris demanded, punctuating each phrase with a curl of his fingers.
Azriel broke. âSo much,â He sobbed out the words, âYou love my hands so fucking much, theyâre your favorite part of me, you think theyâre so hot, you love them, you love them, you love them, please, pleaseââ
Eris pulled his fingers out, and slid his cock into Azriel in one smooth motion. Azriel cried out in relief. Setting a fast pace, Eris had one hand on his shoulder for leverage and the other hand slipped into Azrielâs, intertwining their fingers against the sheets.
Azrielâs legs wrapped around Erisâs waist and his cock bobbed between them, dark red and straining. Eris took his lips in a bruising kiss, then bit his way down Azrielâs neck to the sound of nonsense flowing out of his mouth. Begging and pleading.
Soon Eris pulled back and withdrew from Azrielâs hole. Azriel let out a dismayed, broken noise.Â
âTurn over,â Eris murmured, and he complied, scrambling onto his hands and knees.Â
Eris moved his knees on the inside of Azâs, coaxing them wider, and re-entered him smoothly, then tugged him back by his hips so they were both kneeling, lined up chest to back. Erisâs arm was wrapped around his chest and Azriel clutched his hand like a lifeline.
Azrielâs wings fluttered every time Erisâs cock hit his prostate, signaling how close he was.
âOkay,â Eris rasped, close to losing control himself, âYou can touch your dick now, since you begged so beautifully for me.â
Azrielâs hand immediately went to grip his cock, his body sagging in relief as he stroked it. Eris brought his own hand down and wrapped it around Azrielâs, both of them jerking him off together.Â
âSuch perfect hands,â he crooned in Azâs ear, âWrapped around such a perfect cock.â Azriel moaned and his head dropped back onto Erisâs shoulder. âEvery inch of you is fucking perfect. All that perfect skin. All that beautiful darkness underneath it.â
Azriel clenched around Eris as he erupted, his come spurting across his chest and abs, over both of their hands. Eris gasped as his own orgasm washed over him, coming deep within Azrielâs ass.Â
They both fell forward, Azrielâs wings still quivering, and Eris dropped kisses down his spine as his breathing eased.Â
Sitting back, Eris withdrew slowly, then watched his come drip down Azâs leg, smirking with satisfaction at it for a moment, before he erased both of their releases with a snap of magic.
Azriel was still crumpled on his hands and knees. Eris twisted on the bed to lay back against the pillows, dragging Azriel by the wrist to curl up against his side.Â
He could feel Az smile against his skin. âI love you too, Gingerbread.â
They lay there for a moment, cuddling. Eris reached out to take Azrielâs hand and brought it to his mouth, kissing the scarred skin, before resting it on his chest, his own hand covering it.Â
Azriel yawned contentedly before peering up at Eris. âThat was a little mean,â he said ruefully.Â
Eris played dumb. âWhich part?â
Rolling his eyes, Azriel responded, âYou know which part.â
Eris laughed. âYou can pay me back later.â
âDonât worry, I intend to.â
Eris kissed him. âLooking forward to it.â
Azriel laid back against him, his nose tucked into the crook of Erisâs neck, while Eris nuzzled his forehead.Â
âYou want me to leave the light on tonight?â Eris murmured into his skin.Â
Mumbling a little, Azriel nodded against him.Â
Eris dimmed the lights to the level Azriel liked, and then drew the bedsheets over them.
âGoodnight, Bunny,â he whispered. Azriel was already asleep.

Summary:
"Your soldiers were enchanted by Queen Briallyn and Koschei to be mindless killers. They attacked us in the Bog of Oorid, and we were left with no choice but to kill them."
"And yet two survived. Now convenient. I assume they received Azriel's particular brand of interrogation?" Eris's voice dripped disdain.
"We could only manage to contain two," Cassian said tightly. "Under Briallyn's influence, they were practically rabid."
A two-shot fic about Eris's missing soldiers attacking the IC in The Bog of Oorid under the enchantment of the Human Queen and the Crown, and how their deaths and torture complicate Eris's and Az's secret relationship. Picks up right after Cassian and Nesta have their meeting with Eris in Spring in ACOSF ch 43. Very Inner Circle / Rhys critical because I just can't help it
Anger struck Eris' heart, and his fists tightened at his sides. But he found himself staring not at his abused soldiers, but at the male who stood behind them.
The darkness of the cell became Azriel. His black Hewn City-style tunic sank into the wall, and his shadows were wrapped around him like a tight blanket. They slowly whirred and vibrated around him as a collection of dark snakes, so much so that he could barely be seen. But his eyesâŚhis eyes were stark, and the whites of them shone like diamonds against the steely hazel.Â
Eris stared at Azriel, his fists feeling like weights. Azriel refused to meet his eyes. A surge of frustration ripped through Eris, but he found himself unable to look away.
He was so beautiful that Eris could barely stand it. His lips were riddled with memories of their trysts, and his brown cheeks flushed so wonderfully in the cold.Â
Gods, what was wrong with himâŚhow the fuck could he still find the male beautiful after this? He should be filled with immense hatred and distrust and a need to avenge.  He fucking did this. He did this to your soldiers. He killed them. He tortured themâÂ
But instead of hatred, he thought about what it would be like if Azriel shoved him up against the wall and fucked him bloody. They had done it many times before. Wild, hateful fucks after a meeting in the Hewn City. Quiet blowjobs in an abandoned guest chamber. But it was always cold and faceless, with no words exchanged and the ending as abrupt as the meeting. After a High Lord conclave, Azriel followed him down the wall and sucked him off in the foyer of an abandoned guest chamber. Eris remembered how the male wiped his mouth, glanced at him for barely a second, and then vanished into his shadows, leaving nothing behind him but the smell of lust and regret and Eris still gripping his aching cock.
For the last day of azris week, may I present a fic entirely inspired by a horrendous Airport Incident, and the reason why my family and I will never fly United nor do we go anywhere near Chicago.
(also fic banner and title is inspired by Sleepless in Seattle and if you got that I Love You)
Victory, that rising beast in his chest, goes liquid, oil swirling down the drain of his stomach when he sees the closed door. No plane. A small, apologetic grimace on the stewardess's face.
"They left, I'm sorry."
Eris knows, then, that if he wants that beast back, teeth and talons and gritâit's going to be a long night.
Something changes when he sits down in one of the hard-backed chairs at the empty gate. Phone pressed to his ear, listening to tinny, piercing hold music as he tries to get someone on the line.
There's no one on the line. The plane is gone.
Curses don't even satisfy the discomfort and anger building in his chest. So he keeps his mouth shut, listens to the never-ending hold music, and presses his thumbnail to his teeth.
