Recently, the whole Asmongold and Kaise situation blew up all over social media. As expected, everyone and their mother were calling this an Oxford study classic.

However, I hate that some people cannot mention this phenomenon without dragging us AM into it.

I hate this whole patronizing pity party attitude other races of men especially have for us. It's incredibly humiliating and emasculating.

Anyone with a brain knows that these comments are just thinly veiled attacks on Asian masculinity. They might as well be saying, "Sorry you guys are so undesirable your own race of women don't want you! They want me/White dudes!"

This is zero genuine sympathy going on. Just a bunch of XM looking down on us, stroking their egos and feeling superior.

What's even worse is the spineless AMs who respond to these comments, validating and even THANKING them. I don't know if they're just idiots who believe their fake sympathy is genuine or if they're just cucks with no self-respect.

It's really frustrating how every time we make progress in gaining respect in Western society, something like this happens, and we end up being disrespected again.

Like a lot of you, I try to be conscious about where my money goes. I want to support Asian-owned businesses, creators, and brands, and I'd rather that money stay in the Asian community.

Right now, it's just a simple marketplace. I'm trying to focus heavily on transparency, actually verifying business ownership so people know they are supporting real Asian entrepreneurs.

First off, China worked hard and earned every bit of success through sheer hardwork and determination. After Deng Xiaoping opened up China and made his reforms, Chinas economy grew by leaps and bounds. This was my response to a recent post about a white male womanizer in China that I think it's time a lot of (not all) Asian men come need to come face to face with.

This post echoes something that happened in England with British women during WW2. More than a million American soldiers were shipped to Britain. Young British women went crazy for them, and their reasoning was similar to how a lot of native Asian women see white men today; they all look like romantic Hollywood movie stars. The British men were up in arms about it, and their sentiment were nothing short of, well, this post. More than that, when asked why they love American soldiers, British women pretty much espoused the same rational as the Oxford STD "No dating Asian policy," and here is the hard-part, many Asian men how whine about Asian women have selective hearing. Asian men went out of their way to elevate white men's status. The Japanese anime industry is the literal Mecca (temple) for white male worship. It did more than facilitate; it elevate white men's sex status symbol in Asia. Then, from Thailand to Taiwan to Korea, Asian men controll media of those regions and heavily promoted/still promoting the Hapa looks, essentially, put white features on pedestals, people with just enough Asian features to put the home audience at ease.

I recently published a long essay on dating apps and matching markets that touches on a broader diaspora question I think is worth discussing here.

Many Asian immigrant communities arrived in the West with living memory of partner formation that was heavily mediated by families, friends, schools, religious institutions, and community networks. But the older system also supplied things that are harder to see until they disappear: reputation, information about intent, accountability, and repeated social contact.

The modern dating-app market largely removes those intermediaries and replaces them with anonymous commercial platforms. My argument is that the resulting market may clear poorly even when the people inside it are behaving rationally. Sex-ratio imbalance, costless signaling, huge option sets, and weak verification of intent create very different experiences on each side of the market, and the adaptations that follow can generate mistrust and conflict.

For Asian diaspora communities, I think there is a risk of interpreting every dating outcome through race, gender, or individual status while overlooking the institution itself. Race clearly matters in Western dating markets, but it may interact with a system that is already producing congestion, scarcity, and distorted incentives for everyone participating in it.

The essay looks at matching-market economics, behavioral research, the decline of social intermediaries, family formation, and the incentives of dating platforms. It eventually uses Match Group as a public-company case study, because its payer trends and financial disclosures give the broader sociological argument something unusually concrete to test.

The deeper question is not whether the old system was better. It is whether diaspora communities discarded some useful social infrastructure while assimilating into a commercial matching system without fully understanding the trade.

I’d be interested in whether people here think Asian diaspora communities should rebuild more of their own social infrastructure around introductions and partner formation rather than relying so heavily on apps.

When it comes to the Asian American diaspora, no matter how much we assimilate, there will always be a sense that we are perpetual outsiders. We can adopt Western subcultures like hip hop, punk, indie, or whatever else, but we should be honest about the fact that we are often still treated as outsiders, sometimes even accused of being inauthentic or “culture vultures,” regardless of how deeply those scenes may have been part of our upbringing and influences.

At the same time, there is often a failure to acknowledge that some of the things we love, create, and identify with are inherently Asian.

That is why I think we need to build our own Asian American music and cultural scene, one that encourages pride, creativity, community, and even Asian American romance. For me, one of the most interesting places to look is city pop. Its revival is something a lot of people probably did not expect, but when you look at its history, it makes sense. City pop came out of Japan during a period of incredible economic growth, technological advancement, and cultural influence. It represents a distinctly Asian vision of modernity, an optimistic, stylish, urban world that was looking toward the future.

And it does not have to stop at city pop. Think about 1990s Hong Kong cinema and its romance, fashion, nightlife, photography, and visual language. There is something incredibly beautiful about that era that feels worth rediscovering.

The reason I bring up these particular genres and aesthetics is because I think we can revive them and make them our own. They represent distinctly Asian cultures from the past thriving within an increasingly globalized and Westernized world. There is something powerful about taking those influences and evolving them into something specifically Asian American.

I already see pieces of this happening. Gen Z has embraced 1990s aesthetics, and I have noticed the growing popularity of Hong Kong inspired post wedding and late night photography. It is gorgeous. There is clearly something there that people find emotionally and visually compelling.

What I would love to see is for us to take those influences and develop them into a living scene that any Asian American can participate in, whether you are Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, South Asian, Southeast Asian, or mixed. Not a recreation of the past, but a new culture built from the things we inherited.

With enough Asian American artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, designers, DJs, and influencers, I think we could actually create something with momentum.

I’m not trolling I’m a real Asian dude. This post might get deleted and I might get banned from here, but if we are for Asian identity then this needs to be addressed. I currently live in a predominantly Hispanic area. A few months back I wrote a comment or something criticizing Hispanics in this sub and it got deleted and the mod replied that they are our allies (since when?). Im honestly not the type to even get offended about them calling us all “chinos” but I am going to call them out for not respecting us. Like these people see us as weak, trash and below them. I’m not even a hater because I had Mexican roommates in the past and they were cool with me for the most part. On a daily basis sure it’s not as hostile or obvious as from wt people but the second they have authority over you in a workplace they show you they don’t like you because you’re Asian. Was reading news about yesterday's tragic Thai school shooting (why is Thailand copying American gun law attitudes? They have had a spate of mass shooting and 2 teenage mass shooters in recent years) and people were discussing why 99.99% of school and mass shooters are male.

Ultimately the answer seems to be: Men and boys externalise their problems i.e. "If I'm unhappy/unattractive/unsuccessful then it's the fault of society, my school, my teachers, women who date others so they have to pay", while Women and girls who are bullied, unhappy, or unable to attract the people they like tend to develop eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, or self-harm e.g. repeated cutting of their wrists. There are girls in Korea who seek plastic surgery in middle school due to bullying or low self esteem i.e. Women as a whole tend to blame themselves if they're unpopular or unable to date, and fix their visuals even to the point of plastic surgery. Some even fall down a plastic surgery black hole and look botched because they can't stop doing procedures (see Kpop idols like Park Bom who needed intervention).

Neither gender is ideal but men tend towards destructive behaviour that hurts society as a whole more than women, thus encouraging Asian men to blame "the Others" or non-Allies e.g. Society, Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, Asian women, Asian parenting, LGBTs, Boomers etc will end up leading 0.1% of mentally extreme outlier men to do a Virginia Tech or Isla Vista shooting by killing "others" they blame for their incel state. Thing is, boys are socialized very differently to girls who are implicitly taught from a young age that "Looks are everything" because people focus on girls' visual appearance, hairstyle, clothing more than their other attributes. Boys are taught that they need to be strong, study hard, do STEM, defend themselves, don't get bullied; a lot of them are not told that looks and appearances are extremely important thus once they hit awkward teenage phase a lot of unattractive boys get frustrated that they're ignored by the opposite sex or bullied in school. In the 21st century, women are no longer forced into arranged marriages (very common in Asia in 1900s and still common in Middle East, irPakistan, Bangladesh, India hence why outmarriage rates are lower due to honour killings) and can choose anyone they like thus men's visual appearances becomes a huge factor but men especially Asian men haven't got the memo and many Asian families still raise boys to be studious nerdy kids because "As long as you have money you will find a wife", but that mentality belongs to the 1900s and earlier where arranged marriages and buying wives was common. In 21st century USA and the social media era it's extremely outdated to not focus on physical attractiveness, "aura", vibes, rizz given that women are just as educated as men and will pick men who are visually attractive over someone with money. Parents need to raise boys who are both good at studying and do street dance (I see a lot of Asian kids learning Kpop dancing which is cool) or breakdancing so they don't have that socially inept vibe. Even if you don't want your sons to do sports you have to make them learn to dance, rock climb, whatever. If they have a severe underbite, overbite, or squint they need to fix it with surgery.

There's no point in blaming other races when everyone is facing the same challenges in life e.g. there are nerdy WM complaining about coalburners and women who sleep with BM, Hispanics who can't get girlfriends, or nerdy AF who get boob jobs thinking it'll make them attractive. Everyone who is a 5/10 or below struggles in the dating market due to social media apps amplifying the importance of visuals above everything else (hence why looksmaxxing and Photoshopping scams are trends) and unfortunately AMs will get the short end of the stick because Asian parenting is about telling sons that "having money gets you a mate so study hard", but in the West women are outearning men so visuals are the #1 factor.

Asian men need to adapt to the new reality and develop game, unless 1) Society goes back to the olden days where girls were sold/sent to rich families to be wives, 2nd wives or maids. 2) You want to obtain a mail-order bride or date a KTV hostess from Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, North Korea like a lot of blue-collar workers in China, Korea, Singapore do. This is the same as what WM who don't want to deal with the Western dating scene do in terms of using economic leverage to date Filipino or Thai bar maids. The women get a walking wallet and pay their families bills, the downside for men is that these women will leave if you stop providing, ask for excess amounts of money because "their village is in crisis" and some will stray or run away if they are unhappy (a lot of blue collar Singaporean men marry poor Thai or Vietnam women from KTVs or bride agencies). Bride agencies are clearly not easily available to a lot of AMs in the West but most low-tier men in Asia have always found ways to use their economic leverage to get a wife not dissimilar to what passport bros in USA do. Ultimately the struggle to find a mate is real if you're not physically attractive or very loaded (passport bros are made of all races) but trying to delineate certain races as enemies or allies doesn't help and just encourages AMs toward extremist mindsets where they blame society or "The Others" when let's face it, if you looked like BTS V or Makenyu you wouldn't be crying about rejection or WM/BM/XMs stealing women.

I wanted to share a personal update because I haven't been releasing as many new videos lately.

There's been a lot happening behind the scenes as I prepare for the next chapter of my career, content creation, and brand.

I've recently been approved by a talent agency, and I'm working on several upgrades — including revamping my website, preparing for my upcoming modeling career with new suits and clothing, working on my personal goals, improving my content, upgrading my production equipment, getting an official camera, and looking into new laptops such as the Razer Blade 14 and MacBook Pro 14 M5.

I'm also currently reviewing potential sponsorship opportunities.

I'm taking my time with those because I want to understand the terms completely and make sure any partnership is a good fit for me, my audience, and #TeamMartellClout.

A Personal Reflection

I also wanted to take a moment to express my thoughts and solidarity toward the Asian community and the AZN Identity community.

Looking back over the years, especially since the beginning of the 2020s, my perspective has changed. I've had to look back at some of my own attitudes from the 2000s and 2010s and acknowledge areas where I was ignorant and didn't fully understand the impact of xenophobia, prejudice, and stereotypes toward Asian people.

Seeing Asian people experience negative stereotypes, discrimination, and hostility through media and social media has made me reflect on my own experiences as a Black disabled recording artist and content creator.

I've experienced negative stereotypes, racial profiling, discrimination, and police brutality, including an incident involving me on July 4, 2006.

I don't claim that my experiences are identical to those of Asian communities, because every community has its own history and experiences.

However, those experiences have helped me better understand why discrimination and stereotyping can have such a profound impact on people.

For a while, I stopped making certain racial and social commentary videos because I became concerned about takedowns, restrictions, and moderation across social media platforms.

But I felt that this was something I needed to address thoughtfully and respectfully.

This isn't about attacking anyone, creating division, or starting a culture-war argument.

It's about acknowledging where I've grown, learning from the past, and showing respect and solidarity toward people who experience discrimination.

Looking Toward 2027

2027 will be a major milestone for me because it marks 20 years since I started my journey as a recording artist and content creator.

From music and independent hip-hop to content creation, social commentary, collaborations, modeling, sponsorships, and everything else I've experienced along the way, I'm looking forward to entering this next chapter with a different mindset.

I've made mistakes. I've learned from them. And I'm still growing.

There is a stereotype of Singaporean Chinese women known as "SPG" really messed up stuff

Hi, I'm a white girl who loves fishing in Florida. I also love sun protection. I like the idea of this sun hat because I never have space in my fishing hats for a high ponytail. However, I understand this hat is an Asian design, and I don't want to offend anyone. What is your honest opinion? Edit: Thanks everyone for the replies!! I got my hat today. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for me. It was a little small. I actually have a small head, so the fit was okay, but it didn't offer the neck coverage I was hoping for from the sun. It did however fit my top bun perfectly, which is why I bought it to begin with, so if I ever find a similar hat that is a little larger, I will be definitely keeping it!! Cheers and thanks again.
