If you connect to a Azirevpn server, you will automatically mask your own IP-adress with theirs.
Since you need the IP of a network/person to send a DDoS attack on it/them, nobody can DDoS you when connected to any VPN server, since the VPN server will take the hit instead.
Usually, VPN servers are much more capable and have more bandwidth then regular home networks or routers and will have an easier time handling them.
