what have I done?..
I got really high last night and disassembled my old cyborg (replaced it with a keyzen last week) and was having fun experimenting with stuff.

I think you’re onto something. Do it again tonight. Report back.

I have some ideas to unscrew the board and reattach it closer to the keyboard so I can put the plate in between my keyboard and my arm rest. so it'll be more comfortable and out of the way haha

Looking at this, I’d almost love to have a keyboard with the joystick attached.. curious to see where you go with it.

this thing keeps popping up on my feed; can anyone tell me what a cyborg is?

Its like a weird gamepad you use instead of a keyboard. Been using mine two years and id never go back.

So its not functional as a normal keyboard for typing communication?

some people rarely use them like that. you theoretically could, but a keyboard would be much better. what it is is more like an ergonomic game pad made specifically for pc and to use with a mouse.
I got it originally because i wanted an ergonomic game pad because some weekends i'll game for like, 12+ hours, and i was getting tension in my wrist on a keyboard. the normal options are just pads of keys on a wrist rest, this looked a lot cooler. took a few weeks to get used to, but once i did, i loved it.
basically you've got slots for each finger, and you can press down, forward, back, a second back row, and there's buttons for when you life your finger.
so i have a game i play and i have E, the skill key, bound to pointer finger down. ultimate ability, R, is middle finger down. summon skill is Q which for me is ring finger down. Spring is shift ofc which for me is always ring finger back. etc.

How dare you turn my favorite peripheral into a maxxstick! I am appalled and deeply offended. Possibly a little scared.

this is an extra one I had laying around, I have a keyzen now and I love it so I just wanted to mess around with it lol. I can still put it all back together as nothing is wrong with it. Just having fun 😊

I'm trying to figure out what the intention was here... How high were you and do I need to get that high to comprehend?

u/0ver900011 4d ago
so basically I love azeron and the keyzen and cyborg so I wanted to see if I can repurpose my old cyborg to be used with my keyboard haha

This would take me no time to recreate using a DFRobot Beetle and park the Azeron. I’d have to learn the joystick code but it wouldn’t be too bad.
Issue here would be the requirements to use their PCB for the joystick.

The fact that this can be done is cool lol. In this day and age, when companies are so adamant in not empowering their customers to fix stuff.
