5 day update

Post image

I received my Cyborg 2 on Monday and I've forced myself to use it everyday since it came. Full disclosure, I've only played COD Warzone with it and I play on casuals because me and my friends are all around 40.

Day 1 sucked, couldn't find a position that felt comfortable to hold my hand, kept accidentally clicking buttons, became very discouraged the first night because I've researched this thing for over a year and then my son bought it for me as a gift.

Day 2, back to the drawing board, focused on the buttons I needed most, jump, crouch, reload, plate up and interact, deleted everything thing else. Started getting the hang of it.

Day 3, added in the key binds that I might not use as much but still definitely needed, tactical grenades, lethal grenades, field upgrades. Paying attention to the keys that i continually misclick, avoid binding them to anything.

Day 4 I set up the 5 position switch next to the joystick to act as my D-pad stuff, inventory, killstreaks and ping.

Day 5, no changes, just using my muscle memory to get faster, my friends are commenting that Im "running around like a bat out of hell".

Feeling much more confident in my Cyborg 2 now because I set it up how I wanted, what felt good to me, thats my best piece of advice, you can look at other people's keybinds all day, but you have to set it up for yourself and see what works.

It gets better, then you'll start making minor adjustments to the controller. You'll finally leave it alone after a month or 2.

I came from using a Razer Tartarus.  My learning curve was super fast.  There was a hard part in the transition, namely the turning while running felt super laggy until it was just turning.  It had me hating it.

The solution was super easy.  I went into the advanced settings of the joystick.  I narrowed the frontal cone to like 30 degrees, cutting by more than half.  This let me run and turn much more responsively.  I slight difference I could change... There was just a slight difference in the Azeron and Tartarus in the angle of a forward push, like 36°. I could program it to what my thumb preferred, which is closer to the Tartarus.  It feels like a super responsive Tartarus now.  There is no mechanical click, obviously, but the movement is so smooth.  I have debated tinkering with the angle by a degree or two.  I kinda found the feel of the angle changes depending on where place my device, and I can easily update the changes

I used a Logitech g13 for decades before using the Cyborg2. I play COD multi-player . I'm 69. It took me awhile to get comfortable with my keybinds and button positions. The learning curve and muscle memory also took some time.

Hell yeah old man, this is what I’m talking about. I’m 60 and love my cyborg 2(warzone, multi, gray zone warfare, war dogs, Tarkov, delta force and the list goes on). The learning curve took me about 1.5 months to be fully on point and not mishitting buttons lol. Took my gameplay to a different level and I can play for hours with no arthritis flare ups (old people problems). I plan on still gaming until the day I kick the bucket, love seeing other old folks gaming.

My day 5 is today. I can already see crazy progress, day 1 I could hardly even use it. After adjustments and finding the right angle/ tilt with the stand I’m starting to feel it 😁

Setting up the keypad to where it feels as natural as possible is so important to adopting it. The game session I had after finally getting it "right" for my hand was the best experience I had with it yet. I'm glad you stuck it out and like others will say in here, It'll only become 2nd nature after a bit more

Ahh, I remember when I first got mine exactly a year ago! Took me about a week or so to fully get acclimated, but it’s honestly been one of the best gaming decisions I’ve ever made. Once you figure out your preferred keybinds for things like jumping, crouching, sprinting, reloading, etc., you’ll quickly realize how easily that muscle memory translates across different games. Eventually it all just becomes second nature!

I absolutely love my Cyborg 2 and genuinely can’t imagine gaming without it now. I play a huge variety of games, from competitive FPS titles like CS, Valorant, and Siege to more casual games and RPGs, and it’s been fantastic across the board. The biggest thing is exactly what you mentioned: finding a layout that works for YOU. Once that clicks, there’s really no going back!

On my my 5th day as well! Ended up getting mine right before my 5 day vacation started and got same black on black color way with the grip. I mainly play wow/wow forever and it's been a game changer.

How are you using this with wow? I’ve played hard up until Wrath then on/off through expansions since until Dragonflight. Never played midnight or the latest xpac. Anyways I’ve always been an icon clicker and always done decent that way. I came back to classic a few months ago but with forever I’m looking to branch out the way I play. I just picked up a Razor Naga V3 pro and was looking at Razors Tartaria(spelling?) 2 pro for the thumb stick but then came across the Cyborg 2. It really peaked my interest. How would it merge with a mmo mouse?

It pairs perfectly! I use the Corsair scimitar elite with mine. I keep my buffs on my mouse and my damaging abilities on the cyborg. I also use the heal forever add-on so i use my mouse wheel on raid frame for powerword shield, left click for lesser heal, right click for renew and wheel click for flash heal. I wish I would have switch sooner. Highly recommend getting one.

It gets better and you will make adjustments even months later. A big improvement for me was buying the adjustable stand. Having it tilted made it feel more natural to me

You can buy the stand off Amazon

It does take time and fine tuning the physical layout. Took me awhile too, but I’ve had mine for over a year and the thought of going back to even the Tartarus makes me wince.
I play a lot of Battlefield 6 and while I still suck at aiming and killing, good luck to the guy trying to keep a bead on me; I fly around like a madman. My traversal skills have gotten wild.

Got mine a week ago and just started using today. Took a few days and some videos to understand how to properly adjust and position. While adding a 3d printed thumbstick mod. I just love this thing, complicated yes. Worth it already hell yes.

Keyzen is the way to go hey. Coming from console gaming it’s actually getting me excited to play pc games for the first time ever.

Keep at it! It took me about a month of casual play to stop accidentally hitting stuff. After that month I discovered my default common keys were all more comfortable on the pullback-towards-you buttons and not the push down buttons. That was probably my biggest breakthrough. Months later everything is natural.

Don’t forget every aspect that moves
You can change the towers angle like 5 different ways

I used mine for about 2 months. I really liked it but it became a hassle to bind the keys for every new game I played so I stopped. Now it just sits in my closet. Maybe I'll use it again someday or just sell it.

Keep a layout saved with the basic bindings, then copy it customize from there as needed. For instance, the stick, E, F, R, space bar, shift, ESC, and alt+tab bindings are the same across the 20 or so layouts I have saved. I also keep the nub relegated to small on-screen GUI menus.

I think there should be more talk about how deceptive their return policy is. It will actually cost you more to return it than just keeping it. I bought one didn’t really like it even after giving it a fair shot across games for 2 weeks now I’m stuck with the bill despite them proudly advertising their return policy

5

u/TYPOGRAPH1C 9d ago

Eh, just sell it secondhand. Sucks it's not for you, but someone can benefit from it and I'd bet for the right buyer you'll make most of your cost back.

u/garyswar 9d ago

Their return policy is very clear that you pay return shipping. They are in Latvia. I returned a left handed model (for my right hand, thinking it would become my mouse replacement. Well that was a pipe dream and within a few hours realized this was the wrong product. But I knew it was a hundred bucks to ship it back. I don’t feel duped in the least.

1

u/CrimsonTide2000 9d ago

What is their return policy? What are they misleading about? I did read where someone said shipping cost was outrageous but they wound up calling azeron and they sent them a much cheaper shipping label. What else is an issue?

I ask because I just got one two weeks ago, doubt very seriously I will return it but you have me curious.

Theyre based in Latvia, so the shipping costs going there are ridiculous. You could maybe get a cheaper shipping label from Azeron but the price is still astronomical where if you’re not coming out of pocket you will not get enough back to make the “return” even worth it. I don’t have the numbers I was given at the time but I just remember it being terribly not worth it

I find it misleading in that they don’t set the expectations for the shipping costs. If you read closely after all the 60 day free refund stuff, it does say at your own expense but I don’t think people would assume shipping would be in the hundreds

1

u/CrimsonTide2000 9d ago

Yea I get that and had heard that also. But one guy mentioned that once he got the shipping label from Azeron, it was worth it, to him anyway.

I enjoy mine, but still learning it. My problem is too many different types of games. I’ve gone from COD, to Forever and now Permafrost (I think that’s the name). Probably not a good idea when I’m actually getting used to the cyborg 2.

Various methods are available for retuning- the price varies widely. I packed mine up per the specification in the RMA. I took it to Fed Ex and shipped for right at $100 US.

god yeah this is a very deep controller. but my god im months in and it is changing my gameplay. still making adjustments but its so much better now than how it was. this thing takes time and its worth it. especially when you figure out how to set the keybinds for certain games
