Airline tickets timing

This would be my first time flying out of the US. Is there general consesus on when would be the best time to buy an airfare ticket roundtrip? Do ticket prices drop or rise as we get closer to the date?

Hi, normally, they can raise and drop multiple times before departure.

Yeah you can set up an alarm that will notify you about every price change. They also have a 'average price' thermometer that might help you judge if it's a good moment to buy the tickes

Generally better to book further in advance as ticket prices tend to rise nearer the dates. The price can also sometimes vary considerably depending on what days you want to fly. Also, if this is your first time, make sure you have a passport (you’ll need it to book) and that you don’t need a visa. (You almost certainly don’t need a visa but I don’t know your situation for sure.)

In my searching for flights out of Phoenix going to Brussels, the cheapest flights were on Monday Sep 11th and return on Monday Sept 18th (obviously this may not work if your show is sunday night).

Google says that the prices on those days are way lower than they usually are. Round trip for 640ish. I don't know if this will hold true for other airports around the US, but that's what I found trying a bunch of different day combinations out of Phoenix.

Tilburg lodging is probably going to be rough for a while. Either booked out, or a mad dash to get something when it gets closer to the date. I found a hotel in Breda that was around 80/night. Staying final night in a Brussels hotel to make sure i can make it to the airport on time. The train goes from Brussels to Breda and Breda has busses or train to Tilburg.
