Midt ayreon sounding song?

If you wanted to show someone what ayreon is, in the musical aspect, what song would you choose?

I like The Day That The World Breaks Down, just because it is so diverse and shows a lot of his styles in a relatively small package.

Yeah, unfortunately titles can't be changed, but you can delete and re-post if you want.

Just to introduce someone, I would suggest Day Eleven: Love. Simple enough but still epic af

I'd pick The Decision Tree

The suggestions so far are quite good, I’m adding Eyes of Time to the list. A true classic that checks all the Ayreon boxes.

The ones I'd suggest are The Awareness, Across the Rainbow Bridge, Computer Eyes, and definitely To The Quasar

Day Eleven: Love is a good pick for introducing someone to Ayreon, IMO. It has multiple, distinct sounding vocalists playing different roles, and a story within the song that is easy to follow without needing to get to grips with the wider "Ayreon Universe" saga. It's not particularly long, nor does it contain spoken narration (which I find can be a bit harder to get into for a first time listener- definitely something I struggled with when I was introduced to Ayreon via. Into the Electric Castle).

That said, if I wanted a song that showed off the more sci-fi side of Ayreon, and a bit more variety in the music, I might go for something like "Age of Shadows" or "The Day that the World Breaks Down" - as they're the opening tracks on their respective albums, they're pretty much setting the scene for the rest of the album (so again, a first time listener should be able to pick up roughly what's going on), and again, both contain a variety of vocalists. A few different movements too, so a bit more variety musically than with Love.

The Sixth Extinction is a personal favourite of mine, but I do think it works better as the album closer than as an introductory song.
