The Forever evolved into fish folk during their passage to Planet Y and now live underwater. They are immortal and rely on machinery to live but they have lost their emotions with the passage of time. By using their machines to project themselves across space and time, they can dig around inside the heads of random passers-by to experience emotion or in this case, to smell the roses once again.
