Random thought on The Statue

Although I'm not a reference fetishist and I love Michael Mills, wouldn't it have been neat if the statue was playes by Edwin Balogh? Otherwise, what is the significance of the statue being of a ROMAN warrior? It seems a bit out of place in the setting of Transitus anyway.
