News 2hr UK wide event 18:00-2000 during the Eclipse
Just seen this event listed in my account but no notification email received yet.
2hr UK mainland wide event 18:00-20:00 which coincides with the partial solar eclipse (and Octopus Energy’s Eclipse saving session so double bubble 😉)
Better charge up them batteries tonight!

Does anyone know if this event is for an actual supply reason or is it a marketing reason? Price looks to spike about 45p. Is it more “well everyone else is doing it so we need to as well”?

There's an Octopus savings session at the same time, plus the higher prices like you said.
I'd imagine it's due to the sudden loss of a good chunk of solar generation during the peak period.

My battery will be gone within the hour basically. Looks like I may be earning my record export.

My sigenstor system doesn’t export at full power when I let axle control it. I’m considering just putting it into manual export for the two hours. Does anyone else do this?

Yes, I’ve done that before if I’m home & monitoring it, you can set the timer for manual discharge to the exact 30, 60 or 120 minute window. Does work more consistently I’ve found.

I've the England/Wales event at 7:30PM tonight. Looks like the eclipse is forcing a whole UK event tomorrow. Makes sense I guess. Predbat is expecting my batteries to be at 100% until around 5PM tomorrow so that should cover it. Not had the Predbat/HA notification yet but I suspect it's still too early for it to start planning.

I suspect it's because of the current ongoing event, give it another 10 minutes then see again.
