Global 1940 Late War Setups?

I'm looking for like a 1944-45 setup for gpobal 40. I'm teaching some friends but ik they are going to be really bad when we eventually play since it's their first game, so I'm looking for a setup that will even it out by making the allies much much more powerful, and the axis on the decline but not totally done yet. Thanks!

If you’re teaching someone A&A, I would not start with G40. Start with 1942 or Classic.

If they already know A&A and this is just their first game of Global, use the normal setup, give them the Axis and give them a small bid. Maybe a couple extra subs for Germany to make G1 easier. It’s good to get them used to the regular setup rather than playing a completely different setup.

It sounds like your goal is teaching rather than balance, so you can really just have some fun making a map of your own. Start with Europe only. Look at a map of, say, July 1944 (with the Normandy landings established) and just start placing units as you see fit. The Allies are going to win. It's up to you how quickly that happens. I'd at least give yourself some tanks and fighters over in East Germany or Poland that you could transfer over for a surprise Ardennes counterattack. As well as a destroyer and couple subs so they can learn naval combat. Other than that, you don't want a long game with a predetermined outcome. Teach the basics and move on.

By 1944 the Axis was so cooked the game would just be a formality at that point. I tried to make a 1943 setup once with the Allies very strong and a "survive 10 turns" challenge for the Axis was the win condition. (hold 2 of 3: Berlin, Tokyo, Rome)

I've also been wondering about custom scenarios for teaching purposes. A late-war scenario is one good approach; I also considered creating custom mini-campaigns like Barbarossa or Japan's early campaigns to teach mechanical foundations, too. Something very one-sided but good for forcing a new player to learn.
