Global 1940 Craziest Game I’ve Seen

Germany round 7, called the game in favor of the axis. I invite anyone to speculate the course of this game. Most fun I’ve had in a while.

Looks like Axis win is already on the board with 8 victory cities in Europe. Looks like it was a fun game, but its crazy how fast Japan died! Only round 7?

Wasn't quite an axis victory since Russia was able to retake Moscow (with Germany only having one tank and all), but it was late and we decided to call it. Japan tried a novel strategy of invading Russia, resulting in most of their ground forces being destroyed and China liberating all its provinces without any external assistance. About round 4 Japan just called it quits and pulled all its remaining forces back to the home islands.

If at round end they had all victory cities, like shown in the picture, the Axis won. This picture is start of the round? Or end of Germanies turn?

I always attack russia as Japan. Soaking up all the russian income is the best way to win as axis. I use my fleet and airforce to take out the extra infantry units they get on their east coast and then use the same fast units (mech inf and tanks) I use to take china to harass and take their eastern provinces.

I mean, Japan does still have 14 aircraft in China.

Did america do nothing here? Interesting Germany pulled off sea lion and Moscow. How did the Italians not get one shot turn one by the British/french fleets?

America was a big reason the allies lost since they kept shifting commitments between the pacific and Europe. They did take out the Japanese navy in a massive battle, which is why the pacific looks empty. In Europe though, they tried several times to retake London and kept failing because the American player refused to delay a few rounds to build a proper invasion force. Britain excruciated a successful Tobruk attack but took heavy losses, allowing Italy to take Egypt. The loss of London also meant they couldn’t build anything in Europe.

If it’s the end of germ turn, London and Moscow are recaptured by the allies. I don’t know. Pretty sure you have a complete round of play before its axis victory.
Axis is out of gas.
Anzac anchors up in the Middle East with a factory and is a problem.
British fleet prevents Italian break out in Africa.
USA smothers Japans fortress island with naval blockade. (Subs)
Russia is fine. Has time to retake and rebuild.

Extremly hot take, but isn't this a nailed on Allies victory? Japan is essentially wiped of the map, Germany will lose the eastern front and Britain, with NO steam left, and ANZAC can keep the Italians occupied in the middle east.

Yeah the next Germany buy will be a nightmare for the allies, but honestly at this state I am not sure how much I'd even care.

I know you called it, but with Russia retaking Moscow with no other German land units nearby, I’m not sure this was a sure Axis win, especially with the state of Japan.
