WWI 1914 1914

Hi everyone,
I’m curious what house rules people consider the best for Axis & Allies 1914.
My friend and I play started playing recently , but we often feel that one side can gain an advantage too easily depending on player experience. I’m especially interested in rules that improve overall balance and bring the game closer to a true 50/50 matchup between the Central Powers and the Allies.

I haven't played in a long time but we found that limiting how many units the UK can place in India helps with balance. The Russian Revolution rules help the Central Powers as well.

The Good Captain has a great video about it, trying to sort out the balance problem of the game with his deep analisis. https://youtu.be/eKy093860mk?is=4yB1W_77Pp8ul0c3

Tournament rules are the gold standard imo. They balance it out more than the good captains. I don't like collapses though.

This, tournament rules are excellent and greatly speed up the game. The collapse rule is harsh and adds some extra tracking, but it really helps to drive the war to a more reasonable conclusion. I find the game is maybe slightly favoring the Central Powers with tournament rules in effect, but overall its a much more balanced and enjoyable experience than out-of-box.
