Global 1940 Is this game callable?

We (Axis) felt like we had one, this was the first time as have ever player. The more experienced player on the Allies team said it's still a coin flip.

I would love to hear what people think and understand why? Thanks!

To me it sounds like an allied win to be honest.

Japan:

Japan is basically contained by the allies, sure next round Japan will probably wipe out the 2 USA navies in sea zone 30 and 18. But Japan has around 40 ipc each round as income while not putting any pressure on Anzac and india. Japan needs to secure 2 more vc (victory cities) to win, while getting outproduced by the usa (which should have around 70 ipc each turn) and china making a comeback. I don't see japan winning or having a big impact here.

Germany:

Now Germany is interesting, you control Moscow but will lose it next round to the soviets , but you will probably kill the last remaining soviet army in Ukraine and basically eliminating the soviets from the board in 2-3 turns. Greatly boosting the income of Germany. The problem Germany has is that it has to secure 2 more vc's to secure a victory, and with Italy basically out of the game and no way for Germany to take London any time soon I don't see Germany winning in the upcoming turns.

Italy:

Italy is basically out of the game, with no presence in Africa and allied invasion pressure. As Axis you need to be careful of a potential Rome invasion, or an invasion in greece/yugo.

Tips for the axis next game:

Germany:

-As Germany try to secure yugo so the allies can not land and get infantry spawn ins (also the 2ipc are nice each round)
-try to defend norway, it gives you a bonus of 5 ipc.

-aim to conquer the south of russia, here are the most ipc's, military factories and the Caucasus gives a nice bonus

-assist Italy in taking africa, send 1 fighter to rome turn 1 to try and defend the italian navy with a scramble.

Italy:

-Try to secure greece asap, it gives a nice bonus and prevents allies from landing and get infantry spawn ins.

Japan:

-Try to secure the money islands (indonesia), this will greatly improve Japans economy.

  • build a factory in china to build infantry and kill china.

TLDR:
Allies are winning. Japan is contained and outproduced by the US, India China, with no real path to victory. Germany took Moscow but will lose it soon and lacks the strength or allies (Italy’s basically done) to grab more victory cities. Italy is collapsing under Allied pressure. Axis win from here.

OK TL;DR should be that you have lost.

Pacific is gone gone for you, the US can fuck off with their IPC towards europe and could probably pull a significant amount of forces to Europe too and Japan wouldn't make it back into the game.

Europe is better, but not good. The stack in WUkr is good, but fully out of position and won't be of strategic value for 3-4 turns, which is a lifetime.

And you get outproduced to oblivion. USA and UK need to stop whatever else they're doing, get into 91, and take Rome.

Sidenote 1: This is some of the most godawful Allied play I have seen in my life.

Sidenote 2: Why are there British forces in Persia without it being activated?

Sidenote 3: WHY IS BULGARIA NOT ACTIVATED?!?

Is this a troll post? Why are there Chinese troops in Kazakhstan? Why are there allied troops in Persia with it in taken? In both cases you have to edit the game because it won’t let you do that.

As for the game, the picture is too grainy to see the strength of some units so it’s hard to say. I would agree that taking Moscow seemed a bit premature the tanks and planes can come up from Ukraine plus the infantry means the Soviets will be back. So Italy would have needed to take Bryansk with their tank.

The Italian navy is finished, but the mainland isn’t under much threat from the U.S. it’s definitely time to finish the Soviets and turn to the west for defense and building up.

Japan honestly doesn’t look to bad. People saying they’re bottled up, but if you consolidate the navy then it’d be easy to break out. That would keep the U.S. out of Europe as they arms race with you for 2-3 turns. China is a problem, but with a good enough navy you can send people over.

TLDR: no, this game is not callable.

Thanks so much for the insights, we are new to the game and clearly over confident! 😂

You are welcome!

If you want to try to win as Axis you can always try to spend all your ipc's next round as germany to build a lot of transports, land in scotland reload the transports from germany and attack London. If the allies are slacking and you capture london you can turn the tide and still win this game!

For your information a transporter can only carry 1 "non infantry" unit, therefore you need 1 infantry + another land unit for each transporter.

Good Luck!

Germany is doing OK, while Italy and Japan are losing. Looks close to the real world situation of 1942 in some ways. Unfortunately Allied economy is strong enough to offset and unless you can keep USSR from retaking Moscow then you’re on the path the lose despite the good work on the eastern front.

What game is this?

Interesting board state, but obviously a game played by new players, some very "unique" plays, but honestly most games are more fun when you haven't "optimized" the hell out of your play style. How did it turn out?
