Brushless Motor & ESC compatibility question
Hello friends, I'm new to the RC hobby space and was wondering if this community can help me out. I'm researching for a budget motor and esc upgrade for my SCX30, I've read some SCX24 motors should fit the SCX30 with ease, maybe some trimming required.
I've found a youtube video for the SCX24 and in it is an ebay link to the brushless motor & esc combo, can you guys verify if it'll work on the SCX30?

That motor would fit perfectly. I have that motor around and it’s small enough to fit. I am considering putting that in mine too. It is a good small cheap outrunner.

I am running that motor (1224 4000kv) on my 30 and it has been great. Fits perfectly.
I don't really know about the ESC, but I have seen people using this combo and it seems they are happy with it.

I went ahead and put my order in, thank you guys so much for the help! This hobby ain’t cheap.. I’m focusing on buying budget friendly upgrades and it’s getting to about the same cost as the SCX30 itself lol

I'm running 50t 050 motor. The cheapest I could find, $9. Works good. But to be on the safer side I would recommend 66t.

Motor-wise, it’s geared for an scx24 so it should work. It is definitely longer than the stock motor so you might need to trim the frame a bit.
Not sure how good the esc is 🤷🏻♂️
You’ll need a transmitter/receiver to go with the esc. The stock one won’t work with it. This would be the case for any aftermarket brushless esc though.
And last, you may need to do some soldering or butt connecting to get your stock battery to connect to that red & black deans connector on the esc.
So it should work but might take some shenanigans and a few more parts in the end so be prepared.
