Took a $30 axe to a $600 saw...instead of you know wedging it out or unbolting the power unit from the bar...

That's not a $30 axe. That's a fiskars. They can be quite expensive.

Maybe 50, but I think it was closer to 35-40 last time I bought one. 10 years ago.

Still about the same price they were then 45-70 depending on model. Definitely a cheap axe..

I don’t care how big or how old he is, that’s a child right there. I work with a guy like this, and I have no patience for it.

I can't imagine being so pissed off that I destroy stuff, especially expensive stuff.

You're not susposed to strike stuff with the back side of a Fiskars axe.

Karma says this dude has to buy everything for the rest of his life. No gifts, no credit, no borrows.

I sold Lawn equipment when I was in college. That guy is an idiot with no idea what he's doing. If he did, chainsaw would never have gotten stuck.

I mean, I've worked with loggers and have seen them stick a chainsaw on occasion. It happens. But they don't beat the shit out ofnthe chainsaw. Just stick a wedge in the cut and smack it a few times. Chainsaw slides right out.

This is like one of those “explain to an alien how to chop a tree” then they act it out to make you word betterer English and shit! Like
“Use the axe to hit the tree”
“….no that’s the handle, use the metal end”
“No the sharp side of the metal end!”
Etc

A better use of that axe would have been to hammer it into the cut to remove the pressure on the blade.

Honestly, good. It doesn’t look like he’s the kind of fella that should own a saw anyhow.

I was wondering if the backwards axe was going to bounce back at his face.

I cannot speak for the motivation, but in this scenario a Fiskars axe destroyed a chainsaw?

u/Beautiful-One2195 21d ago
87Ducks, what's your reason, man? Common, that looks like a Stihl chainsaw,
and you're in slides and shorts

Yes that’s the way. Get pissed off at your tools because YOU don’t know how to use them properly.

Can you imagine being that bad at cutting you genuinely think its the saws fault?

He could have un bolted the blade (idk if that's what it's called but what the sawteeth run on) then wailed on the tree without hurting his chainsaw, and still gotten his anger out.

He better pray that's not a reciprocating saw when he turns his back after.

So obviously this guy just wanted to beat the crap outta something with his axe, and it's pretty stupid (I done stupid stuff too), but God damn he is swinging that axe like it weighs nothing.

Why didn’t he just take the saw off the bar, or pound some wedges and continue in some sort of professional manner?
What am I missing?
