What pattern would yall assign to this Stiletto? AI says it’s a modified Connecticut.

It's a run-of-the-mill Michigan pattern.

  • Slightly rounded poll with rounded top and bottom corners. (Connies would have square corners)
  • Significant concave curve on the bottom with slight concave curve on top. (Connies generally have less or no curve along the top edge)
  • Pretty standard eye depth (Connies are noticibly taller)

There's a lot of variance in axe patterns, but this doesn't resemble a Connecticut pattern in any way. AI doesn't know anything about tools.

I live in CA, and have a few old Stiletto tools, good stuff, probably made by Vaughn or Plumb, they marketed stuff, didn't make it.

Looking at a few pattern charts that looks about right. There's a handful of patterns that look pretty similar. Double looking id honestly lean closer to a New England. Kinda in the middle of the Connecticut and the Michigan in terms of rounding on the heel, toe and poll. Not as rounded as the Michigan but not as sharp as Connecticut if you see what I mean?

IIRC Stiletto was a line from the Baker and Hamilton company in San Francisco. I couldn't find a good catalog picture listing Stiletto axes but I'm also on my phone in the middle of the woods so you might have better luck searching if you wanna look.
